Got the trailer harness out and started it up. I have lights for now, let’s hope it stays that way.

 

New flatbed design. Fab shop in Longview gonna do it this summer.

I got a bit of work done the last week or so. I leveled out the passenger side, did a BMC, some of you might have an aneurism sense in havent welded the plates on yet. Finally tinted the truck, 5% on back glass and 35% up front, kept it legal. Im not sure if I mentiond it earlier or not, but new tie rod ends, spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers for the front, and I also did wheelers offroad brake lines front and rear, the rear is 4" extra, serviced the truck with royal purple to see if the hype is true, rotated tires and detailed the suspension. Still need to do my wheel bearings, steering shaft and replace my already torn CV boot. but its almost there, soon back to actually doing mods

 

Got a softopper because I wanted to be able to camp in the bed, but still need the bed when
I move again in 4 months.

 

Is there a high output alternator for us 4bangers? About to pull mine today and my “quick” Napa replacement looks like it may not work. I picked it up to get the truck running faster but if I have to order again I’d rather go bigger.

they are very pricey though, there's few options for the 2.7L

 

I picked up a slightly used OEM alternator from a salvage yard off a low mile Tacoma.. for $65. Works great.

 

Look at GP audio, they sell a 220 amp alt

 

Did some research. Lol as it turns out stock gears + 33x12.5s + deep soft sand = revlimitter. Can't post a video but rooster tails were flying

 

Those are niiiiice, but the prices aren't listed, at least that I see. Any idea what the ballpark figure is?

What I found on other forums was 4-500. I just ordered another stock alternator and called it good.

I'll stick with the weak stock guy, till I can find someone local-ish that will re-wire it for a little but more oomph.

 

A non supercharged 1994-1997 Jaguar XJ6 4.0L (Denso 210-0406) 120 amp alt bolts right up to the 3RZ (with wire adapter/spliceing), since the 2TR-FE uses the same block I'd wager it work for 2nd gens too.

 

Consensus is that it isn’t necessarily harmful but is extremely annoying, I’m having a cv shaft made for mine also an inch longer so we’ll see how that works out.

I called them. Not even close. The 180a or whatever their lowest amperage one is is right at 1k and it goes up from there. Quality is second to none tho with those guys.

 

Wonder if the Lincoln LS would bolt up, in pretty sure that’s the same motor.

Edit: should be pretty easy and cheap to find one of those shit boxes around to snag one off of.
