Frame Treatment Done

Just had the frame treatment done on my 03 taco, Can you say sticky... It dripped some heavy white crap on my driveway when I got it home. Looks like they did a good job.

That back crap on the outside of the frame never dries either. It is guaranteed to get all over you whenever you get under the truck.

 

Oh that sucks, they told me it will be tacky for a few days and dry up, already got it on me it's like tar..

jdmcq you have the same Taco I have, have you had your trucks frame done yet?

 

Yep a few months ago. It hasn't dried yet. I washes off with GoJo when you get it on you.

 

ok, stupid question for you then. What happens when you wash your truck or it gets wet, does it run off?

 

No, it stays put when it gets wet. Mud and dirt sticks to it though. My frame is partly brown now.

 

Ugh I'm getting my frame coated next week...I don't want to have to deal with this stuff every time I get under there to work on the damn thing.

 

So am I right in assuming that there is no prep work for the treatment? I've seen some people say there is supposed to be sanding and epoxy as a part of the treatment. But, it seems like most people just had the oil/wax treatment sprayed right onto the frame.

I'm asking because I've got my appointment set up for this Saturday and don't want it to get messed up lol. To hijack the thread a littile, does anyone think it'd be a good idea to sand and rustoleum over the parts of the frame that do have minor rust?

 

Going to wash, knock off any surface rust, spray with Krud Kutter, then rustoleum. I have very little rust on the underside of my truck.

 

What kind of rustoleum do you use? Truck bed liner?

 

Tell me.....Is Toyota still required to do the frame inspections even after the coating is applied? If so how often....I got mine done in March. Some of mine has peeled off and has gotten rusty again.

 

I just use there run of the mill flat black rattle can paint.

 

I was told by Toyota it is a 3 step procedure...

 

x2....that stuff rustoleum makes...hammered i think...that crap is amazing!
