Those power seats solve a very significant issue for anyone over 6'1 - 6'2. If you aren't that tall, then sit on a phone book in your truck and you'll know what its like. You feel like you are on top of the truck instead of in it. Then add the 8" screen with Apple CarPlay Android Auto, LED lights, updated grilles and its a nice LCI. Better late than never.

I do agree on the engine/trans combo - seems the only way to get around this is to order a manual but Toyota won't change the drive train out at least until the 4th gen comes along. Forget about a V8 - that's a pipe dream and will NEVER happen. Best you can hope for is a turbo diesel, and only that may become reality if Tacoma sales slip enough in favor of the Ranger and/or Colorado. Toyota starts with good looks, a reliable drive train then reacts from there. They simply don't have to be on the cutting edge of everything since they currently OWN the mid size market. Either way, people are largely undeterred - they are selling a ton of 3rd gens.

Strangely reminds me of the front end of a VW Passat or something.

That seems super early for a 2020 release, the 2019s have only been out a few months.

From the Toyota video the new power seat looks very similar to the 4Runner seat. Although the 4Runner seats seem bigger. I wonder if a 4Runner seat would fit in a Tacoma. Might make sense for people who would prefer to retrofit the seat vs a new 2020?

Its a good question but speculating from a simply economical standpoint - it stands to reason the seats and motor mechanisms would be the exact same between the two vehicles.

This. I've never seen them drop new model years that soon. Unless its a .5 like they did the Camry in 2017. I'm betting Aug-Sep at the earliest.

Not sure - I think CarPlay will be incorporated, and I heard blind spot indicators will be standard.

The 4Runner seat is very comfortable. They are selling used for 300.

Nothing wrong with that. Myself I bought a new '17 when the 18's came out and saved $4k

Here in Ottawa, Canada the new ones came out in Dec/Jan

So here's update what I found out at a local dealer here in Denver, CO. Basically when you start seeing the blow out specials the 2019 models, your dealer should have at least their allotment list. Mid Summer is what I was told. Physically will be late September. Now the bad news, expect the Tacomas to be more expensive. The current MSRP $43095 will be more like $47-48k for a pro. And the other models will also see increases.

I suspect many people getting on the list for 2020 models, so if you are serious about getting 2020, call around when the allotment list come out and get your name in. Hard to say though as it's hard to justify a mid-size truck at 47K. My hope is they offer the OR in the Green and not just the Pro TRD.

I do like the 360 degree cam view, power seats could drive the price up more if these are only going to be in premium packages. Maybe a $49k truck be the time you get the options you want.

August and September timeframe seems to be about normal for release time.

4Runner Trail wheels and Toyo Open Country ATII tires 265-70-17. Cosmetic stuff like Pro grille and OffRoad black bumper trim, vinyl delete on side, added hood graphic, OEM tube steps.
I'll take 50hp, Carplay and less vibration. Is that too much to ask?

Most likely I will be getting a TRD Sport. I don't do a ton of off roading but a Taco will be extremely helpful for camping and miscellaneous odd jobs that I do. Thanks for the info!
