I know, I ask it again... but is the new 87tune (wich increase torque) already for 04A61 available? I ask because I had seen the updated OVtune page

Drove 230 round trip miles on interstate today. In the left lane..
Passed a few shiny confused tacomas on long inclines. Get a tune..
On way home got 23.7 mpg with 1 hour driving 80 mph or higher
87 base rocks. Complements the truck in all areas: quite, responsive.
One thing we need to fix. That stupid TC needs to be in unlocked mode below 1500 rpm if engine load >50%
Shifting was fine. Most of the drive I stayed in 6 tc locked. When you demand more power, it goes 6 unlocked or 5 unlocked.
I noticed that in long inclines the gear of choice was 5 locked with engine load between 80-90%.
    Love it, love it.
Forgot misfires... To was 8, from was 4

I may put a stock size on my other wheels. Can’t believe how much one tire size and 300lbs makes

Yea, lost almost 2 mpg after going to Falken Wildpeak 32s. Probably switch to Michelin Defenders when it's time for new tires.

When that tune becomes available you will be able to download it using Flash Manager. If you don’t see it on the list of tunes for 04A61, it’s not available yet for that CID.

I've been trying to follow along for a few weeks (new taco owner) - For those of you talking about misfires, is that a problem with ovtune, or an OEM problem?

My interpretation is that it is an OEM problem that OVTune minimizes.

Stock has some, the tune has some. Some trucks have more than others.

I had high misfires on stock and tuned. I replaced the CKP and it has been getting progressively better after this latest tune flash.

I understand that Mat is working on a specific tune or feature within the general tunes that will attempt to help with misfire count.

I drove from Dallas TX to Wichita KS, about 5 hours nonstop. 3 misfires entire trip. 93 octane gas on 1.05 91 base tune. Averaged 21 MPG, real world MPG little higher since my tires are 265/75/16.

but that is the point, the tune (87base) is already available, but not with the new adjustment which gains torque

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure ovtune wasn't adding some problem to the truck. Is a misfire something I should notice in my daily travels? I never have any problems but I've only put 2k on the truck

87 base is what it is. When @OVTune has a tune with a “new adjustment which gains torque” available they will release it. Takes time to develop these things.

Matt - don't let the miserable self-entitled brats get you down. You should do a poll. I am sure the vast majority of us are silently very happy with your product.

Generally refunds we do case by case, depends on the persons situation, because like I said I understand there is some grey areas. Same with returns.
