This is what it looked like when I got home..

I have since removed the cabinets and a portion of drywall and insulation. Looks like a small crack and it had practically stopped leaking by 1am. I was ground out along the crack with a wirewheel and was able to seal it up decently with PL400. Temporarily of course.
I will be shovelling out a pile of snow in the backyard in hopes of alleviating the amount of water coming in..
I will have some pics once I clean up a bit.

On that note...
Anyone have any experience with the epoxy foundation repair stuff?

Somewhat happy I ripped the wall apart actually....the dipshits who moved the outlet from above the sink to be within code.....left this surprise..

For the garage though...doesnt look like there is a gasket. I think its some sort of treated at least.

 

They give an example of some cleaner... I used something similar. I’m using TWP stain which as far as I know is not solid.

I have 285 feet, which I am responsible for both sides of. Total is about 3400 square feet. It’s roughly $30 a gallon and I’ll need 25-30 gallons of it. Good news is it will look damn good when I’m done.

 

Dang that's a lot of fence hahaha. If it were me I'd definitely want to make sure it's consistent, and the best way for that is to keep doing what you are doing.


Is there a neighbor's kid or someone you could pay to do the power washing for you? That's the route I'd pursue if it's a pain.

Had to chain it up with the excavator lifting on one side and the backhoe on the other then back the flatbed trailer in underneath it .

I haven't done much in the past 14 years, for multiple reasons..none of which are good. I have a few upcoming projects, such as 80' of driveway, a new roof, flooring, and replumbing to get rid of the rest of the polybutylene water pipe.

Most of these projects are going to revolve around having a flat, hard place to work (like setting up the table saw and such). Therefore the primary focus is the driveway. Quotes for it have ranged around 15 grand, yeah not going to happen. Neighbor owns a cement mixer, and I'm looking at breaking the job up into 8, 8x10 jobs, each being broken up into 4, 4x5 jobs. I'll do the frame up on a Saturday, pour two diagonal parts of the pad, let them cure at least 12 hours. Then I can walk on and screed off of the last pour to do the next. Start behind the fence line so my mistakes and learning curve isn't visible from the road. Then in front of the fence will be 5 pours along same lines. Probably an honest couple of months of weekend work, but I have time and could use the exercise.

Having the flat concrete pad behind the fence will give me a place to work on the old XJ to get it back on the road, as well as a place to do the SAS on the Taco, without annoying the neighbors. Might even be able to take in some side work doing mechanical stuff to defray the costs.

 

Day 1 of the garage reno is underway. Split the job in two, one side at a time. Today we (put the lady to work) put in batts and installed the drywall. Also got some mudding started on all joints, tape up the creases and fixed some of the old drywall. Tomorrow I'll do a quick sand and another layer of mud. Hoping that's enough to hide most of the joints. Going to let that cure for 24-48 hours and then coat everything with drywall primer/sealer. Wish I had more time on this project but I've got a new fence to put up and some yardwork in order to give the pup a place to roam.

 

Similar concept for lifting crippled aircraft on to trailers. Ask me how I know...

 

I am going to try one other method myself tonight, if it isnt easier then I will definitely be paying someones kid to do it. I bought 30 second clean and that appears to have made a pretty big difference but I am going to attempt to used some brightener tonight.

man I would love to tear the drywall down in my garage and put in insulation and then blow some in the attic above it... our issue is we face north, and in Nebraska winters I question if it would really do any good or not.

 

Last tub I installed (20 years ago) I used thin set under the feet. Level on top and a couple taps and done. No messing around with shims.
