It always blows my mind when I walk on to a dealership lot see a 2019 tacoma trd pro and it has swirles in the paint and rust underneath. How does toyota get away with this? This is a 50000 dollar truck. To me 50000 dollars is a ton of money and to not have it perfect when you first bring it home is mind blowing to me. It’s a brand new truck lol. I don’t get it...

I think this was a demo and the person took it off road. I'm sure the milage is over a few hundred and they will either tell the customer it's test drive miles or actually say it was a demo and if I'm seeing correctly on the red spring is the color worn off or is that a reflection?

Pretty sure the dealer would take of that prior to selling if the buyer requested.

Well it's sitting outside in the rain and elements same as any other vehicle. Also it's a black truck and most people aren't OCD about detailing like a dedicated owner will be.

That TRD designed snorkel ruined the truck anyway, probably been sitting on the lot so long it started getting rusty.

But yeah I would agree that they should take better care of the paint

Easy to spot paint imperfections in black. Some of that can removed in the detail shop.

Just one more reason not to spend 50Gs for a Tacoma... Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Why do these posts always turn into TRD Pro envy hate? You guys always bash Pros then do everything you can to make your trucks look like a Pro. Grill, wheels, exhausts, hoods, fog and headlights, Taillights, badges, skid plate, shifter, decals, etc. Just curious?

I really like the look of the Pro, I just can't justify the added expense, insurance costs. If $ were no option I say get a PRO Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner.

I think it’s more of a general disgust for the inflated price of top of the line vehicles these days . Nobody would bat an eye if it was 40k .

The paint problem is in all the Tacoma's,its just that every guy that visits a lot always wants to look at the Pro.

Those swirls are nothing and would come out with ease (if the person knows what they are doing). It's black so you see every last imperfection. I can almost guarantee that must cars that leave the lot have swirls way worse. Anytime I buy a car I specifically ask them not to prep the vehicle, I usually get some kickback and they state any damage under the film is not their fault.

People that prep cars for dealerships (for the most part) do not know a single thing about paint care or how to even properly wash a car.

The rust is another issue but that is a common area on the truck to rust as it is exposed un-coated steel if I remember correctly
