    Finally had good weather and my son was available to assist, so we installed my Pulley Boys Qwikchange Hub and 2.7" RIP-Modded Smoothflow Pulley and Pulley Wrap Mod today. Only drove a few miles, but feels good so far.

    I thought the snout cutter wasn’t until 2.5 and smaller. Oh I see, the quick change needs the space. I have the URD install tool, but interested in the cutter @Norton

    The cutter is required when going smaller URDs 2.825 or with the quick change pulley.

    I noticed you also painted your pulley wrap plate to match. I may have to take mine off and do that when I mount my quick change pulley.

    Hey has anyone come across a good guide for removing the supercharger on a 2nd gen to change the plugs? I don’t mind taking the supercharger off rather than skin my fingers but I’d like to do it as efficiently as possible.

    Trimming was definitely required for the 2.7" pulley. More importantly, however, I wasn't sure how easy it would be to do later, following hub install, IF I decide to further downsize the pulley... :burnrubber:

    Yes. I wanted it to be a little less obvious than its original metallic color permitted. Unfortunately, I didn't think about that until I was in the middle of the job, so painting was hurried and not up to my usual standard. Pretty sure I'll end up repainting it. :anonymous:

    @Norton thanks for the heads up on the snout cutter. I would even be willing to add my URD pulley install tool to the kit and just pass it around the S/C group as a kit complete to borrow.

    Damnit, you guys are killing me. I gotta get the exhaust opened up better before I just keep pumping more air in without sorting the output.

    I just ordered an FJ K&N tubing setup to pull the into from under the cowl, but these ideas got me thinking about other things. Now I understand why R&D costs so much, Better is Good’s worst Enemy!

    I don't think this will actually help improve airflow, at least not on my AFE intake setup, since the inlet from the air box will still be 3" and the outlet into the throttle body is still 76mm/3". So the bottleneck for airflow between the TB and SC inlet elbow still exists no matter how much we increase the size of the intake tube. For me this would only increase the middle section. Everything else will still be 3"

    As far as I know, this mod will just address the maf limitation for us TRD/OVtune guys. Maybe some minor additional benefit from an air straightener, but that's probably it.

    I’m sitting on a tundra 76mm TB and adapter plate trying to get 3” all the way from the cowl just want to keep it as clean as possible. The K&N gives me the right bends but is probably only 65mm. I will measure when it shows up. Your products may offer a better way though, and keep it all 3”. And this is how I ended up buying a TIG...

    It won't increase airflow but because the sensor reading is maxed out for some the airflow is actually more than what the sensor is capable of reading. The increased size apparently allows the sensor to be scaled higher so it gets a valid reading. At least that's my understanding of it. I think the ecu has to be rescaled as well.

    Yes! So I guess I'd need a couple of silicon couplers. I kinda think the black plastic of my AFE intake absorbs a little less heat than a piece of Al. Don't really want to cut the AFE intake tube either. Wish there was a replacement MAF sensor that would just fix the problem. I get a code pretty much anytime I pin it for a nice pull on the freeway. Good news is it has never affected performance and I just clear it.

    I agree. It says that it comes with the software to program it for calibration, at least the universal model does. I think all the negative feedback comes from the pre-programmed models and the end user expected something different. The end-user were promptly told to find a tuner when they called by from what I understand. I don’t question the vendor or end-user but perhaps think a MAF calibration device is a bit more in depth and would almost require someone educated on such tuning applications to apply at the customer level. It seems there are so many variables not accounted for in their preprogrammed models.

    Agreed. Seems like the reviews have mixed results and more of a bandaid fix but I probably give it a shot if there was no other tuning option available.

    @White lightning boosted that aluminum maf housing might be a good place to mount meth nozzle too. Unless the TB adapter is working out good
