I won’t deny that one. Million mile engine in a sub 50k mile truck

 

for the 03 time frame which is what that truck is I'd pick Ford. I'm not a brand loyalist so which brand I'd pick somewhat changes year to year.

 

Captain Marvel was actually a very good movie. I honestly wasn't expecting much, but its definitely worth seeing.

 

I seem to think I had less wind drag with RTT this morning vs. not having it on.

 

If yours is cab height, it could potentially lead to a more aerodynamic profile of your truck... I think I just found my logic to NEEDING an RTT for my truck. Lol.

Yep. It was a big difference. Thought if I had a deflector for the roof rack it would be smooth sailing. Also, had bed cover closed.

 

Tons of real estate with the bed bars. Surprised about how much. Might have to move to one side and add a pelican case.

As long as the EPA and CARB don’t change their minds we should see a return to pre 2010 diesel power and fuel mileage in the next 3-5 years. Companies have started letting the engine run dirty and just cleaning it up with DEF. There is a sensor that puts the truck in limp mode if the DEF tank is empty, but some enterprising person will figure out how to switch that off.

 

so instead of stricter flowing engines with advanced filtering we will start manufacturing true cleaner burning engines and not just super clogged engines?

Hahahahaha absolutely not. The particulates are captured in the water and urea mixture that is DEF. Basically the pollution is going into the DEF instead of the air and the idiots in charge are happy. No one asks what happens to the used DEF.

It does make EGR unnecessary

That’s good to know, emissions BS has driven diesels into the dirt recently

 

there's almost not much point in buying a diesel over the equivalent gas burner. you pay a premium of 10k to 15k for the diesel. diesel now gets the same fuel mileage unloaded for about 40-60 cents more a gallon, then is the extra mpgs when towing even worth the difference in fuel. Plus the cost difference for maintenance and when something does go wrong and it will.

If you want a diesel buy used, and that's why diesel trucks have withheld value so well i believe.
