Think about what could go wrong. If you crunch an air line, tape might fix it. If you crunch a wire, a twist and tape will make sure you get home. Wire is thinner, more malleable and cheaper than air lines. A dead battery means no lockers in either scenario though, compressor is electric and has a much larger draw than two lockers. Personally I would love to do a full locker up front with manual hubs.

Well, TracFone would certainly put the brakes on THAT! And you could go out to dinner 3X a month with no loss, and mod the truck!

Holy crap! It's $4000 to regear with assembled 4.56, front and rear, and locking the front with an E-locker.

don't forget the cost to install those third members (or gears if you just order the R&P with separate locker)

Yeah, I was considering that, too. It was like $4300, free shipping+core charges.

Just FYI. I bought front and rear gears, master install kit and am having them installed for $2377 out the door.
You can add the cost of the front locker (Harrop E-locker) $1400 and a little bit more for it's install but i think you could come out around between $3800 and $4000

I'll probably just buy the front Harrop E-locker and run stock gears until regear and then order pinion and gears and set lash and all that stuff myself or with Chris helping. It'll be way cheaper to do it that way, I think.

Had I done my own install i would have saved $1100. I'm paying that because 1. I'm not familiar with setting backlash. 2. They offer a one year no questions warranty with the install. 3. They are a professional gear shop and will be much faster than me.

Those are all good reasons, lol. Those are similar reasons to why I blight my ties at discount tire and had then install it even though I had access to mount and balance machines. Free balances and rotations for the life of the tire, free repairs/replacement for the life of the tire.

Frustrated trying to book flights to STL to see St. Louis Symphony play my sons work for like 10 minutes. 4 day drive, but wife wants to fly.
Ridiculous. Rent car cheaper that taxis too. :annoyed: Pissing me off. Try again tomorrow, when I am not so PO.

Hope you get it figured out brother. Sounds like an amazing opportunity of a lifetime to hear them play your son’s work. Must be an awesome and proud feeling.

Yes, and it's stupid to make it a money argument. But the flights all suck for the price, so, maybe we'll drive.
It's not like this is a mega performance, but, how many times to you get to hear a symphony perform something your child has done.
I will get it figured out....
    (and thank you)

I hear ya. In the end you will get there and enjoy the experience. Memories will be made and you won’t even be thinking about how you go there. I know it’s easier said than done but it will all work out.
