Im with @NunyaBizness on this one. I bought my truck in CA (it's where I'm stationed) but gladly changed it to Idaho (where Im a legal resident) when I got the 500 dollar bill from CA. 85 bucks for 2 years and no smog ever.

 

$3.00 a gallon at the low end 3.65 average for 87

We lived in AZ for 4 & 1/2 years... vehicle registration goes down every year owned as the vehicle value decreases. More of a personal property tax... like many other states nowadays (complete rip off).

 

Just filled up for 3.26 a gallon. I ride a bike to work though because I'm an avid cyclist so a tank of gas usually lasts me over a month.

 

That would be great if we knew what that meant........

Trucks (up to 6000 lbs GVW) $40.00 for 4 years
Automobile license plates are based upon the selling price of the vehicle (2 year increments).
The rate is .1% of the value of the vehicle per year, with a minimum base of $10,000. ($20-$82)

This goes for sales tax too. When I was in Texas, I purchased my truck new, and registered it from our permanent address in Alaska. This allowed me to pay Alaska sales tax vs. Texas' 6.25% (there is no tax on new vehicle purchases in AK). The annual registration fee is something like $20 or so, too.

Some food for thought next time you buy a vehicle. This only applies to your legal residence of course, and you must be active duty.

Move.... is like quit your life. Quit your job , move from kids, friends etc. trust me dude. That sounds like a lot to leave behind but the pay to cost of living is scale is tipping the wrong way fast.
I’m stuck here for now to enjoy my beaches ,mountains , amusement parks and Casinos all within 60 miles

 

$112 for two years in Oregon.
But, its almost a grand every year for my commercial truck registration. Under CDL, F-750, Cummins.

 

I thought $101 was to much but I guess it's not to bad compared to some of y'alls.

 

Anyone in Utah? Might be headed that way. Good riddance, you megalomaniacal blue freaks of California.
