Great looking truck! That is very close to want I want to do with my truck. (As soon as I get it!)

 

First trip was to Mendocino National Forest OHV a year ago. At this point I had Falken Wildpeak 265/75/16 AT3Ws and they worked great.



Also installed four D Rings to hold my Wavian 20L Jerry Can

 

Pictures from Bodie, CA in May 2018, was able to navigate most of Bodie pretty easily with the 265/75/16 AT3Ws and stock suspension. At times I wish I had a container to put my camping stuff in or a Soft Topper to cover the bed.

How was the ride after the lift?

 

At the beginning of June 2018 a friend and I installed the Fox Suspension, SPC UCAs, and the 3 Leaf AAL

 

Much better, especially off road. It's been awhile since I've ridden on stock suspension but I remember it being more floaty and uncontrolled.

 

After the lift was installed I wanted to up my tires from 265/75/16 to 285/75/16. In order to clear the 33s without rubbing a CMC, hammering the pinch weld, and minor fender trim was necessary. The CMC and pinch weld was done by Milogen Fabrications in San Jose. Milo does a great CMC (and other fab work) I highly recommend his shop if you're in the Bay Area.

Next up was armor, I'd done my research and heard plenty of good things about BAMF. I placed my slider order in around end of March and picked them up mid June. The sliders were beefy and easy to install, well worth the wait.

I ordered the sliders bare metal because I planned on putting them to work and figured it'd be easier to touch them up with a rattle can. My process for prepping was pretty straight forward, sand the sliders down, hit them with Isopropyl Alcohol while scrubbing, then dry them off. For priming I coated them 3-4 times using Rusto Bare Metal Primer waiting about 5 minutes between coats. After 20 minutes I hit them with another 3-4 coats of Rusto Flat Black waiting about 5 minutes between coats. After drying off I staged them for install and touched up any places I missed. I didn't actually get around to installing the sliders for a few weeks because I injured my hand.

My next goal is to up my recovery gear a bit more. I'm wanting a front bumper, winch, and to swap my 13" 600lb stock coils out for some Eibach 14" 650lb coils so the front doesn't sag. Still need to save a few more dollars before pulling the trigger though!

 

Haven’t updated this in forever. Bought a Softopper and was rear ended in March 2022. Replaced my taillight and did some minor touch up work.



Also bought some bumper caps from Ecoological out of Auburn, CA.



Think my driver side shock is also leaking…

 

OEM battery died, swapped in an Optima.
