OMG I want this tank. Is it straight bolt in?

 

It is... plug and play... highly highly recommend you lift the bed and install from the top down though. It's super easy to do as long as you've got eight milk crates and three friends.

Initially thought it was aluminum... it's steel.

 

How much for the dewalt table saw?

I just installed mine and it is steel, not aluminum. Steel is probably better anyway, being under the truck getting whacked on the trail (or curbs at the mall).

 

It is aluminized steel as @loginfailed stated. It will fit Short Beds bolting in and also long bed automatic with some minor fabrication work. I built one bracket for my long bed and made slight modifications to a couple other mounting points, but it will fit a long bed as well.

I was alone with a lot of beer, 4x4 pieces, and 2 xfloor jacks. Not preferred but bed stayed on, just lifted a little.

Thanks for the input guys... I haven't even taken it out of it's packaging. I was so stoked to install this, but since I'm now selling my truck... what's the point?

 

How much suspension work?

 

None that I'm aware of. I can move the tank around without help, but it's a little awkward for one person. The extra +/- 15 gallons of gas weighs about 94lbs. No need to mess with suspension. I included the manufacture's link for more info.

 

The driver side front leaf spring mounting bolt has to be cut down flush. It is obvious in the instructions and takes about 5 min on my long bed. Zero effect to suspension on mine, beer math....roughly 8lbs per gallon, 15-17 extra gallons of fuel, 120-136 lbs spread out over 2x5 feet roughly from just at the front of the rear axle to the back of the front seat.

I considered buying the fuel tank back when the original group buy started, then the price jumped up a bit and I just couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger. I’m fighting the urge now, maybe if it’s still here in a week... GLWS
