The F5s are looking good, glad you were finally able to score a set.

Actually saves you time in clean up in my opinion and you don’t have to worry about avoiding the flares with the buffer.

Heated, with a lift, and tons of light. But not mine otherwise you know I’d be hosting mod days!

    About 3 hours.

Thanks, me too! Going to be a sad day when I put the first scrapes on them.

Same here, except only 2 years. I'm now considering getting the entire truck wrapped :anonymous:

It only hurts for a little bit, I've accepted the big ass gouges mine have now as battle scars.

Came across this while looking up DIY paint booths for my rear HC bumper when it comes in.

    https://www.amazon.com/HomeRight-Sh...y=9033292&hvtargid=pla-352095747358&psc=1#Ask

It's 9x6x5.5h. The bumper is probably like 6.5x2.5x3? High clearance + swing arm/tire carrier.

Good idea? I have an air compressor and could get a cheapo harborfreight paint gun. Or does anyone have any better ideas. I'm just trying not to spend 3-400 bucks on powder coating.

get the purple HF gun and itl work just fine for a bumper.

Any particular reason to wanting an enclosed space to spray vice just doing it outside? Long as you spray the area down with water (so walking around isnt kicking up dust) and you arent doing it during pollen season you wont get much in the way of contaminants. If worried about it id just go to lowes/homedepot/ace/ect and get some of the painters 6mil plastic. Can get a large amount of it for cheap and just :build" an area. Just tape it to the ceiling in the garage and then the floor to make the walls.

I was thinking about doing it in the garage so there's less chance of bugs flying around and pollen landing on it while it dries. I was thinking the cost of creating a paint booth (PVC, drop cloths) would exceed the cost of the tent. I have a 3 car bay garage with high ceilings too. I guess I could just grab some milk cartons and paint it out in my backyard and call it a day though since it is just a plate bumper.

My buddy has this tent and it's really not that bad. Lighter weight materials for the tent fabric, but most of the structural features are pretty damn close to my CVT. The one thing that sold me on the CVT Mt. Bachelor (2-man), is that you get an extra foot of leg room (84 versus 96 inches).

I wouldnt worry about pollen/bugs if you were going ot paint it here in the next few days.

Suppose it just depends if it would be a one time use thing or something youd use in the future

I've been able to buff out some nastier trail pinstripes, but yeah the flares a pretty scratched up so I don't really do anything with them except put a little 404 aerospace to keep them from greying.

I'd probably use in the future too, when we repaint some smaller items or eventually the cabinets. But PVC and the plastic tarps are reusable too. :notsure:

Wow that’s a hell of a job. I might have to rethink just living with the pinstripes......

Go for it. Doesn't take too long especially since I'm skipping minor or light scratches since I know I'll get pinstripes on it again in the summer. I'm no where near as anal with the truck's paint as my previous jet black c55 amg was.

    same here on the RS6.

Some douchenozzle left white paint from opening a door into my door.
The front fenders are aluminum so any butterfly impacts left damage, jk but nearly...

I started taking 2 spots out in the north 40 at work.

Now I just don't care, especially with the sliders..

Let me know about your homemade powder coating booth... my curiosity is peaked

I learned long ago (read as right after I purchased a replacement set of billies 5100/5125, when I REALLY should have got Kings/Fox/Icons instead) that ol' adage of:
    Buy once, cry once.
I am applying that adage now...

All props to @NorthwestCruiser on that one...
