Anyone heard anything about people trying to shutdown hurricane Creek? My buddy said that they was talking about it on a 4 runner page!

Wouldn't surprise me...going to end up like Richland Rd.

I need to go before it gets fully shut down, never been before.

I contracted and worked along side the acting ranger of the Appalachian District in WNC (that covers the area Hurricane is on) and they have been considering shutting it down for some time. Plus the people that live on that trail are tired of assholes coming in there in 2wd and tearing up their roads. Honestly, according to what the acting ranger was saying to me they are really most upset about people going off trail but they have been dropping trees and shutting and locking gates at most of the side trails people have torn up. I am hoping that between them doing that and them making it much more difficult for people to get into the mud bog area they will leave it open.

If you guys go, STAY ON THE TRAIL and pick up trash (even if its not yours). that is the stuff that they are really looking at. Every time I have gone out there I have picked at least a grocery bag of trash up off the side of the trail and in the camping areas.

Oh and keep it in 4x4 if you have it.. mainly try not to tear up the road in the wet spots.

Yeah I haven't been before but I really like to go before it gets shutdown! Suppose to go last December but it got rained out! But I'm going to plan on going and be respectful! I know Alot of place gets shut down because of careless acts! Trash, vandalism, and etc! But I would really like to see it say open

I was with a group that went through almost 2 years ago (April 1 2017). We went left at the T. That way is much shorter than going right but there was a large hole on the route we took.

This is a pic of the guy that was in front of me as he was backing out for a second attempt. The left rear wheel was a full 5 feet off the ground before I snapped the pic.

West Rim Road, Utah. I had my left front about 4 ft off the ground as my wife gently asked me to back up. Later she told me. I am glad I did not know, it was steep on all 4 sides.

Hey was just wondering if anyone here has towed stuff with their Tacomas? Like boat size stuff? Thinking of getting a boat in near future and alot of lake will require me to drive up and down the mountains in asheville

All depends on the size and style of the boat. Do you know what boat you will be towing? I detail boats for people down at Lake Keowee and pull boats, and many other things, frequently. The larger boats scare me to put them on the ramp with my truck because you have 6,000 lbs of boat pulling a 4,000 lb truck backwards. I use my dads truck for launching and retrieving boats because its stronger than my truck but as far as picking up and delivering boats, I use my truck no problem. I also use it every weekend to launch our WaveRunners, there is no problem with those.

It's just a color matched one @trdsport6 picked up for me in CLT.

Cool deal, I'm an ENT major so I spend a lot of time in Forsyth.
