I read over the DIY alignment thread on TW and was like nope...fuck that noise lol. Alignments are something I'll just have a shop mess with, if I ever do find one close to me that'll mess with my SPCs then all the better but all the ones out here won't touch them for liability reasons I guess. I gave the SPC caster sheet to the Firestone tech once and he looked at it like "yeahhhh, right..okay" lol. Unless you go to a custom/4x4 shop but then you're paying $150 for an alignment.

I have my Firestone lifetime deal still even though I only use it now if I'm in a hurry, since the only one worth a damn is an hour away. I'm pretty sure the one local to me just does a toe and go on my truck because of all the aftermarket suspension.

That kid could be dead from that smack in the head for all we know...but at least he'll forever be remembered as the perfect 'spoiler alert' meme

try $190 , well worth it (to me at least). if they are going to spend the time on the truck like it was their own and get it right, then absolutely.

I could see doing that once in awhile, paying top dollar for a premium alignment. For awhile there I was needing a new alignment every month practically and I think Firestone got sick of me coming in on the lifetime deal lol. They never turned me down though, but they press you hard to get other maintenance done while you're there.

Last time I ended up finding a shop only a mile from my house that's run by a couple guys that have several built Landcruisers and are active on other Yota forums, they did a great job and it was $110 if I remember right. That was 4 months ago and I haven't needed an alignment since, but they didn't adjust my SPC's either. Next time I go to them I'll bring the SPC sheet and see if they'll do it.

I did try welding some beads to that rusty fifth wheel hitch I pulled off of the 5-lug, but I got way too much spatter and not good enough penetration since the metal was contaminated with mortar and paint. A flapper disc didn’t do much to prepare the metal. Didn’t want to waste the C25 so I used flux core.

I don't know squat about welding other than what I've read on here, but isn't flux core known for splatter? I almost picked up a flux core welder from HF once just to try and get some welding practice in, so I can do simple jobs/repairs if I need to. I might still do that soon

oh hell yes, if you found a shop where the workers/owners are toyota people then definitely stick with them. There is a shop I noticed about 5 miles away (so much closer than the one I keep bragging about). They have an older 80s 4x4 at the entrance to their driveway with a huger banner hanging on it that 'We do alignments'. I keep meaning to give them a call or stop in there to see what they offer. @BartMaster1234 - on Fremont Blvd near Thornton. Not sure of the name.

The owner has a username on here but I forget what it is....he's 'sponsoredbywifey' on Instagram. Got a really nice 4runner. RPM Garage is the name of their shop

You can press your UBJ’s out on the truck. In fact it’s better than if you did it outside the truck because you’ll have more leverage.

    Here’s how I did it.

I had no problem pressing mine out with an autozone press
