I keep a trauma kit in mine all the time, never know when you’ll end up as a first responder to a car accident or whatever

This is exactly why i want this panel. Quick access to a trauma kit. Did you buy a kit or build your own?

I built my own, but usually order everything I need from dark angel medical. I keep a small kit in my backpack that I carry everywhere too.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
So 5.11 Tactical makes some sweet pouches that are very cheap. Check them out.
You could also check Maxpedition, but they will cost you more.
Make sure whatever you get, that it securely closes. No one needs to get wacked in the head by a flashlight, because they had to jam on the breaks.

Well I’m not necessarily concerned about the pouches themselves. You can get Molle pouches on Amazon for super cheap. I’m more so trying to think of what to put in those pouches.

Would you folks recommend a trauma kit even if I have no idea how to use it? Learning mid-level first aid is on my list of things to do at some point but currently, I’d be useless

No, I would not. I would NOT recommend putting anything medically related in your truck that you aren't trained on how to use and keep current. I could see a benefit of someone else showing up that is trained and you have some equipment. However, good Samaritan laws protect you but you could end up doing more damage inadvertently with some of the equipment out there on scene. Simple things like seat belt cutter and extraction devices are easy to use and not medically intrusive. If a more imminent danger presents itself, fire as an example, then you can still extract someone from a vehicle or entrapment in the mean time until a trained responder can arrive. I don't get hung up on litigation and liabilities, but that may be something else to consider as well if you have equipment designed for a trained purpose and are not trained when you employ it.

Couldn't agree more. There are a lot of good first aid classes across the U.S. to take to help broaden your knowledge if you are wanting to help.

X2 just put snacks, headlamps, flashlight, tire gauge, sunscreen, batteries, genius battery jumper, sunglasses, I would put something in it emergency wise though. Like a couple thick gauze pads and a bandage.
Stay away from anything that use restriction to stop blood flow...people do cause more damage than good, if not trained for sure. Besides save the space for something you can use.
    Like a red licorice dispenser!

And that's why I ask! I certainly wouldn't go trying to be an EMT for sure. I'll just stick with a basic first aid kit.

THIS is the answer I was looking for! Literally none of those things except flashlight came to my mind!

If you have kids, having quick/easy access to diapers, wipes and a changing pad can be consider emergency equipment if you know what I mean :poking:

Yeah I currently have a 9 month old so I keep my daddy diaper bag in the tuck at all times. A bit bigger than I could fit on the molle rack, but it gets frequent use and replenishment so I'm not worried about it staying up on the ceiling.

For anyone else with infants, Columbia has a decent selection of diaper bags that just look like normal Columbia hiking/bookbags

Word. I’ve got a 2.5 yr old and 6mo old. I repurposed the top portion of my multi-day backpack for my dad bag. Doesn’t take up a ton of room, but getting it on the ceiling would be helpful as it ends up getting buried when the whole fam is on the truck.
