If you're interested please visit https://tacomadepot.com/product/ect-always-on-module or PM me.

For 2016 - 2019 model years only, until we can get our hands on a 2020 to test it on.

So I recently jumped on the ECT always on bandwagon. I get 1.5 more MPG with it on, and just like the way it drives a lot more. So after reading all the other posts, I figured I'd buy one of Meso's plug and play kits, only to find out he doesn't make them anymore.

So my buddy whipped up one of these for me:
    IMG_20190317_131427754[1].jpg

It does the same thing as Meso's, with the one exception that it doesn't disable itself with a long press of the ECT button. That can be fixed though, and prettied up with factory connectors and a little box.

    Anybody else want one?

Unsure. I'm just trying to judge interest at this point. I don't think it would be any more than Meso's though. $40-60 range depending on the total component cost. Those OEM connectors are expensive!

    Nice Job OP!
Just to clarify.... he DOES still make them. He has @DSIM doing the original, until out of materials on hand. @mesojdm actually has a newer version in the works that fits within the current switch itself.

Are you running a power lead to the fuse box? Or is it plug and play?
Correct. The V2 will be revolutionary.

I don't think I would either, but the option to disable it is nice. You know, bringing it to the dealer, or whatever...

My buddy finalized the latest version of the Always On Mod, and we got it installed yesterday. Greatest thing since sliced bread.

    PROS:
    • Plug and play - Plugs inline neatly between the button and the cable.
    • Power also plug and play - Plugs into the cigarette adapter wires, so no need to run power all the way to the fuse box.
    • On board fuse - Again, no need to run power all the way to the fuse box.
    • LED light shows when activated/deactivated (I know, buried behind the dash, but when initially installing, it's nice to have a visual to see operation before hiding it forever.)
    • Audible chirp when activated (double chirp)/deactivated (single chirp).
    • Long pressing (5 seconds or so) will ACTIVATE, and every time the truck starts, ECT is turned on. Long pressing again will DEACTIVATE and will not turn on ECT with truck start.
    • The best part, is the button can used normally to turn ECT on/off regardless of what mode it's in.
CONS: None as far as I can tell.

*edit* A LOT of work went into this thing, between a couple runs of custom circuit boards and Arduino programming. None of which I could do. All credit goes to my genius friend.

one minor issue, using the cigarette lighter for power when you turn on just ACC power it will turn off the mod and the next time you start the truck you have to turn it back on. having said that this is what happens with the one i got form mesojdm V2. so i am assuming the same will happen with yours, correct me if i am wrong.

Nope. The module has a memory that remembers what state it's in when the truck is turned off. If it's in AUTO mode, it turns on ECT when the truck starts. If it's disabled, it stays off when the truck starts.

What he’s referring to is turning the ACC on without starting the truck. (Example- just listening to radio). So the module would be doing it “auto turn on” (because power from CLA is on)but won’t actually turn the ECT mode on because truck is not in ignition mode.
Then when you go to start the truck, it won’t auto turn on because it has already done it’s thing when you turned ACC on.
It’s a rare occurrence, but worth noting when tapping off an acc power

So when you say it's a rare occurrence, do you mean it doesn't happen all the time? Because I went into accessory mode and then started the truck multiple times, and the ECT turned on every time.

*edit* nope. Seems you're correct. ECT power comes on when in accessory mode, and then when you start the truck it turns off. Interesting. This doesn't bother me though, just because I never have the truck in accessory mode. I'll bring this up with my buddy though, see if there's a workaround.

No workaround it seems, so it's just something to note for those of you that use accessory mode often.

    I know I’m correct, I created it;)
It’s not a big deal, but some people that use ACC mode sitting in a parking lot or something.. then go to start the truck think the module is not working. Just FYI.
    Btw there is a workaround

not a big deal at all once you know it does that. i discovered it when i was uploading pic's to my head unit. still would tap into the cig lighter power if had it to do again, ruining to the fuse box and taping in there i was not comfortable with. like that you have a connector to tap in i had to do the crimp on splice method.
