    So glad you and your little friends are okay. Had to be extremely scary and violent hit. My first guess was an Abrams M1A2 tank, but snow plow at 50 is about the same I guess.

    Zoe was in the front seat, Bob in back behind me, both unsecured. Since none of us reacted to the impending impact, we remained relaxed which may have saved us from injury. Or so I’m told.

    Check these harnesses out before you buy any. These are DOT approved for dogs. My German Shepherd always wears hers anywhere we go. The dog wears the harness. Then there are two length adjustable straps that hook to 2 D-rings on the harness, then clip into the child safety seat hooks in the backseat for crewcabs, or back wall for access cabs. She can stand, sit and lay, but can't go forward in an accident. I would say you could probably put all three together side by side in the back.

    That is some serious damage to the truck. Glad you and the kiddos are ok. I too traveled to Pedersen to buy my truck. No one around here wanted to hunt for a manual for me. Happy they took care of you again.

    Also FYI for future visibility crusading: Utah DOT recently put tall LED whip lights on all the state plows to increase visibility (they were mostly addressing visibility of the side-wing plow, because people here like to pass the plows when they shouldn't, but they could work for rear visibility too). Sorry for the crappy photo, it was all I could find on the google machine.

    Pretty cool idea. I was thinking a pilot car 1/2 mile back or so. Once the snow kicks up there’s really no way to see lights through the self made storm but this is great for side marking.

    FWIW - my former dog (ex got custody) always rode buckled in. He still does and loves his harness system. I grew up with the hunting dogs loose in the back of the truck - or in the cab loose if the weather was awful - loved them just as much just didn't know better or something. The cats ride in the carriers, except for the one who rides buckled in in her harness (I need to get pics, I know) because she is adventure cat and also screams her head off when confined. I am utterly paranoid, having rescued loose dogs on the interstate from someone else's wreck, of losing a pet in a wreck - if not to the impact than to the ensuing chaos. Even well-trained dogs can freak out. Best of luck and I love the name Jakirescue for the new truck! :) JMHO
