Has anyone towed anything near capacity with this bumper yet?

Also, what do you do with your rear plate when hauling.
Seems that might get sketchy, no rear plate while hauling. Especially for those who don't run front plates already.

    You don’t remove your plate.

They provide a spring-loaded hinged plate bracket. With my bike rack, the plate sits at about 40 degrees off vertical hitting the bar supporting the bike rack, which is a “worst case scenario” as it has no drop like a drop hitch would. With a hitch ball it might be less severe.

In my case, the plate is more visible with the new bumper than it was with the old, as with the OEM low-mount receiver the bike rack ended up right in front of the plate.

I picked mine up last night, managed to slice my thumb open while cutting through the excellent packaging. :sawzall::tinfoilhat:

Excited to do the install soon (have to work late tonight) :frusty:

Minus the trailering hookups, license plate lights, and sensors....

If it comes off as one piece, I just might get mine on tonight before the rain... :crapstorm:

Ha no sensors for me! :) i just unplugged the harness for the LP light and un-clipped the trailer light plug from the bumper. Unbolted the bolts from the frame and it fell off in one piece. I have seen many people take it off in several pieces and it just seems like a waste of time. My bumper was in bad shape so i just clipped off the license plate light pigtail and threw the bumper into the dumpster. The factory hitch and bumper are heavy as shit too, best to not be under it when it comes down.

I just installed mine on Saturday. It comes off as 1 piece.

There's two plugs that connect the bumper wiring harness to the rest of the truck. Disconnect those two plugs, unbolt the (10) bolts between the trailer hitch and the frame, push up on the hitch (two alignment pins keep it from pulling straight out) and pull the bumper and hitch off.

Now... to remove all of your sensors and plugs, you'll have to disassemble the factory bumper. But to remove it from the truck, it comes off in one piece.

That should greatly reduce your effort. Everything unplugs pretty easily. Are you wiring up lights? or just sticking with the filler plates for now?

I'll be putting the license plate lights back in, as for backup lights I opted out of them but the more I read and look around, the more I'm leaning towards ordering a set (granted, that'll cost about $30 more than if I had bundled.... Grrrr)

You can find SR-Q's for the same price as they are when bundled...so, you didn't miss out.

I highly recommend the midnight editions. Same light, but with a tinted lens. They're bright AF. A tad bit more expensive than the standard SR-Q.

Damnit, stop it guys. I wish it weren't chain saw and beekeeping season or I'd blow my money on this in a heartbeat.

    Talk to @CBenfell about chainsaws

Bees are free... I see them everywhere.

RCI is having a tax season sale. Or order through @Truck Brigade for no tax and free shipping.

And don't ever log in to TW, unless you're ready to empty your wallet.

Edit: but you already knew that last one...

Ha, some of those were probably mine. I ran several apiaries in the Seattle area up until last summer!

Unfortunately money needs to go to a canopy first so my chainsaws and beer can stop getting stolen out of the bed...

@Bertw192 - I'm assuming you had to drill into the bumper in order to mount the flip up license plate bracket?

You do have to drill. My bumper came with suggested hole locations punched into the back.

Mine did not come with suggestions, looks like I'll be measuring thrice before getting to work :fingerscrossed::sawzall:
