its a lean meat. I make turkey nuggets, deep fry and they are tasty! The thighs and legs arent worth much messing with or eating.

Like others have said, the legs are tough but the breast is good. Fried nuggets are quite tasty. But my fav is to cube the breast into 1 1/2 inch chunks, drop in a gallon ziplock type bag with an entire bottle of zesty Italian dressing, let sit overnight in the fridge. Wrap each with a half strip of bacon and grill.

I remember talking with about this in the other thread and give the info to my wife to try this year. She also tenderizes the breast meat and makes a stir fry that is good also.

Here’s my ride, NWTF Winchester 1300 Speed Pump 3 1/2” .12 gauge, with a Vortex relflex. I can’t actually remember which choke I’m running (bought two) it’s either a Jellyhead or a Undertaker. Can’t remember which pattered better. What size shot you guys prefer? Remington Nitro Express #5 patterns the best of several I’ve tried. Local sporting good store actually sells singles so you don’t have buy a entire box to try a certain shell.

    I’m ready!
My group at 40 yards. I’m hoping for my first left-hand kill.

Going to a lefty bow was crazy challenging.

I have to use nontoxic loads. I’m using a readily available Hevishot product. It groups okay. I get the bird in close out of necessity.

Last April, I think the 2nd day of the WV season :)

870 super mag with magpul stuff and a Burris reflex sight. Just swapped the barrel this winter and put on a mag extension/barrel clamp/ sling. Sighted in the new barrel the other day and 10 shots with the 3.5” about left me tenderized lol

If anybody hasn’t tried the Winchester longbeard xr shells u should

Also if anybody has any turkeys they don’t wanna eat, send em my way lol. Breast sliced thin, dredged in flour and fried in butter is tops :)
Also u can make awesome soup/stock/gravy with the legs
