Yeah the most you should run is 3" if you ever want to go off road or go over a bump...

Yeah, I'd rather take my chances with keeping the 700s on than having a cheap rental spring compressor explode in my face! Lol I don't trust those things with my cars little struts let alone a heavy spring:rolleyes:

Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
THIS. Sorry I am just now coming out the woodworks @Taco-Obsessed I have been MIA.

I have a 3rd gen DCLB with steel skids, dual batts, and sliders. I am on clip 3/4 w/ 14" 700lb springs but personally feel like I barely have any lift. The 3rd gen is heavier stock for stock. I don't know of too many 2nd gen access cabs running 700s regardless of armor.

Ok, got my truck back from the shop this morning, so I'll post some pics. I lowered the 6112s all the way down to the 1st clip on the PS and the 2nd clip on the DS. Its giving roughly about 2 inches of lift, about even both sides. So it came down about 2 inches overall in the front. I had the shop install my JBA UCAs as well, I'll post a pic. I'll post a pic of the alignment too and feel free to chime in, I'm not sure what its supposed to look like after the new UCAs were installed.

I like how the ride height is pretty level side to side. Alignment is with in specs- depending on your level of OCD of where you want the alignment at may get different response. I guess the proof is how does it drive and track. Soooo now that you have it lower and sitting more in the suspension range of motion-how is it riding- Had a chance to hit some pot holes and speed bumps for effect? Hit some dirt ruts and like? Also how is it cornering... one thing I was thinking is with the stiffer spring and shock set up I would consider removing the front sway bar for articulation off road.

Haven't had the chance to take it offroad yet. I plan on going out on the dunes, take it out on some of the sand rail trails here this weekend. As for on road handling, it's doing great, drives straight, it used to pull left the tiniest bit before the alignment, that's gone. It didn't ride especially harsh before, but it soaks up more of the cracks in the road than before. All in all, in lowered in the front just a little more than I'd like, its sitting right at 2". Maybe 2.5" on the PS. It has quite a bit of rake now as well, but I plan on adding some other stuff to the rear, new bumper, cargo rack, etc.... should bring it down. But I'm happy with the results... for now:D

Hey just pinging you again to see how that is still working maybe you got some off road mileage in or a least a few whoops and ruts. I saw your original post was edited on 3/12 saying go with the 650lbs but your update at the alignment was 3/15- just seeing how your liking everything that its now set where you should be.

My truck is a double cab- little heavier so if it is working reasonably for you, thinking it should be good for me.

    Thx

I haven't had the chance to take it offroad yet, my weekends are wed-thur, lol, but hopefully today. The reason I recommended someone go with the 650s is because of the huge backlash I was getting for running the 700s, lol Though I haven't had any issues with them other than getting the lift height right. With them at the 1-2 clip setting I'm getting about 2 inches of lift, it should be similar with yours being a double cab. I have about 200+ pounds of wieght in front, so it should be close to what the front of a double cab would be with no additional wieght.

Well this threads been quiet for a while.
I was able to upgrade suspension today, I've had the parts for 5 months just no time.
Parts added in the front, bilstein 6120's set on 4-5 with king 700 lb springs, ECGS bearing.
    Wheeler super stops.
In the rear bilstein 5160's, wheeler AAL 3 spring progressive springs, u bolt flip kit and super stops.

A couple of months ago I installed mobtown steel skids and cali raised weld on sliders
And in the next couple of weeks, I'll be installing SSO slim line bumper and 9000 Warn winch, I've added 500lbs +- to the truck mainly in the front.

My measurements from level slab today
    Front before. 34 1/2" After 37 1/4". + 2 3/4".
    Rear before. 35 1/4" After 37 1/2". + 2 1/4".
    These measurements are +- 1/4".
The measurements were more than what I was expecting
I was looking for 1 1/2"-2" in front and 1 1/2" in rear.

I took my truck 4 wheeling in my back yard (Mojave desert) for a few miles, it's feeling really nice.
I'll get a better feel of the upgrade in the next couple of weeks.
When I install the bumper/winch I'm hoping the front will drop 1/2" or so.

Here's a before and after photo

So what clip setting did you set your springs at?? Just curious because I just ordered 700lb. springs. I took my sway bar off, now with 6112 springs in 4th clip, there's lots of body roll. (Naturally), but excessive for me, so if I'm thinking 700-springs on 2nd clip will still have me at 3 1/4-ish inches with less roll. Does that sound about right??

I thought the 6112 were only supposed to be used with the Bilstein 600 or 650 lb springs.

The Billy website states there are upgrade springs for 6112's showing 650 and 700. I just looked. Lol.. I know all this is confusing, but that's why I'm asking. Some have stayed with 700 springs, and these are actual Billy springs......

Link me. I only see two spring options. One that says 6112/8112 or 8112 only.
