Do you have a pic of the truck? I have a 3" lift and my tires stick out side the fenders about an inch. I extended the fenders with some garden siding from Home depot.
The guy checked the bumper height and made sure my rear mud flaps covered the tread. The checked the alignment paper work and I was out in just 15 minutes.
    Hope this helps?

i'm pretty sure nothing happens with your insurance...

they do check if you have at least two inches of suspension travel at the axle. for dropped trucks, that is, not too sure if they still do the bounce test with the lifted trucks.

the won't pass cars/trucks that are super slammed and people do not want to sacrifice the look they are after.

yeah you can do that, but if they know they can take your safety check sticker and possibly tow your truck.

if they are really d*ck they can bust out a tape measure and measure the headlight height from the ground or if you are lifted they can measure from the ground to your bumper. there are headlight and bumper requirements that need to be met.

If you have the recon sticker, you are required to carry the documents at all time. That way they know you didn't steal the sticker.
The paper work will have all the details of what you have on your ride.

If it doesn't match the papers you'll get a ticket and your sticker scrapped.
