Nice @Koitz easy install on the TRD sport? Everything matches right up? Obviously with the air deflector gone..

anyone had issues with the bolts when removing the plate? I tried on mine and the bolts keep spinning but dont seem to be moving. I thought nut was broken loose but I can tighten it up just fine. Either that or theres a ton of threads on the the bolts.

No there's a lock so the bolt won't fall out. Just loosen them all and you're good.

I remember the skid on my '08 had a ton of threads and took a while to crack before it dropped.

Same happened to me when I unboxed my skid from the ebay Toyota dealer that shipped it. One of the rear bolts was not in the plate. Luckily it had fallen out and was still in the shipping box under some packing material. I was worried that the diff drop used on my Pro Comp front level kit would complicate things, but the TRD plate fit right over the top nicely with no problem. Bolted her tight, did not torque...

Yes, there is an aluminum cap held down/up? by 4 screws.
Remove it and you have access to the oil filter.

    Reviving this thread.

Has anyone Rhino-lined a TRD skid?

Yes... not that particular brand, but I used Duplicolor bed liner and Tufskinz letters.

Looks great! How has that held up? Are the Tufskinz still holding on?

Holds up great for DD. Of course it scrapped off when I drug it over terra firma. Letters have shown no signs of letting go.

I originally spay painted it, and that chipped off with regular highway miles.

I can't post photos on my wall, so here is the plate installed. Keep in mind, this is with the spray paint, not the bed liner.

Truth is, unless you hunker down, you can't see it. But hey, that guy in the oil change pit sure will be impressed... unless you have a 6" bro lift.
