    I'll unearth it again someday.

I've always wanted to do a 5 lug truck... But that's more of the same, time to move onto something different.

I have used red RTV and the CU based stuff to seal the exhaust manifolds on several engines, as well as the fire box on my smoker (which regularly burns the high-temp paint off when I'm seasoning cast iron- upwards of 1000F). They should be fine for that application as well.

And yet, the information is still relevant and valid.

    Thanks for playing.

On the SU1075 Knock sensors. Did you have to get 2 pigtails or one?

EDIT: Napa could only find one with the PN 800 and it was only one connector. At like $25.00 Each. But I got the knock sensors ordered. Just need to figure out a good way to wire the up that’s not going to be $50.00...

I basically just cannibalized the old harness into connecting to the new sensors. Nothin too fancy.

Ah I see how that could be confusing. I used two Gm's. The pic was for comparison's sake.

Alright so here's a bit of an update and a list of some things that have happened since I tried but failed to sell this money pit.

    • New Rims and tires - Nitto 420s' 275/60R17 and some 2nd gen rims that I painted a toyota grey mixed with a chevy silver in the clear coat
    • SOS performance rear lowering kit - I texted SOS and they had a scratch and dent kit they used for pictures and fitment and they were kind enough to sell me that kit for $200 shipped, although some bits didn't work out like the rear shock mounts, I had to mod them a bit.
    • Tundra big brake upgrade (the larger 231mm calipers) and stainless lines
    • And Im not sure if I posted about it before but I dumped the exhaust after the cab for a sort of side exit deal
    • 1.5" wheel spacers from Amazon
    • Also changed the rear diff oil for some Amsoil stuff
    • Bilstein 4600 rear shocks
    • re-loomed the engine wiring harness - looks much nicer without brittle plastic garbage constantly falling off everything
    • tucked the cruise control harness into the fender well between the body and fender for looks - also broke my antenna doing this so that's on the list too now.
    • re-wired the alternator wiring in order to fit the bigger GM 140 amp alternator while keeping the ability to run the stock alt
    • New black lugnuts
I'm currently waiting on some custom front end parts to be made in order to level the front with the back. After those are made I'll be selling the front coilovers in order to buy some ridetech units so I can get it even lower. Im also figuring plans to shorten the front spindles so the alignment can be as close to stock as possible.

    New to me painted rims

Pre-lowering kit (one rear leaf removed for stance purposes)
    IMG_20190203_171919.jpg

View of the flip kit with the bump mounted on the axle. SOS says to mount it on the frame but after I installed everything (in the order SOS suggests) I found no drill I owned would fit in the space in order to drill a hole for bolts to mount the bump. So what I did was tack a flanged nut in the old leaf spring alignment hole. Should work fine.
    IMG_20190224_173918.jpg

    Side view with spacers installed
    IMG_20190222_154617.jpg

rear view. The shock mount bolts SOS includes came nowhere close to fitting... So I sourced some from around the shop and found some aluminum spacers that fit in the bushing eyelet on the shock. What I cobbled together works for now but I would like to get some bigger aluminum spacers and 20mm longer bolts to really be happy with it. Nothin a trip to home depot can't solve.

Definitely come out nice. It’s tough to get a good finish like that. Every time I’ve used a clear coat, I end up with rough spots I have to wet sand and polish out afterwards.

There is a bit of fish eye and they could be sanded...but honestly I'm gonna leave em.
Do you spray with a gun or can? A gun makes things awesome.

All rattle can. The tips on those things are so unpredictable. I need to get me a spray gun now that I have a compressor.

Your rear spring pack is not the stock one, correct? What did you use?

Well it's partially stock and partially an icon AAL minus the bottom most leaf from the AAL and the stock overload.

EDIT: I should say its the icon multi leaf aal thing, not sure what that would be called

Well I didn't get to much done today, but some progress was made. I lowered the back to the lowest setting.

I've been trying to get this thing ready to be inspected, but the issue has been a knock sensor. Or rather the connection to the sensor. I pulled the lower intake in order to fix this and remade the wiring harness to the sensors. This worked out fine except now the number 1 sensor is pulling a code vs the number 2 before hand. Basically at this point it's just the connectors... So I'll be pulling the intake again and redoing the connectors at the ends of the knock sensors. Kinda sucks but it's pretty much what it's gonna take to get it legal again.

Meanwhile here's some pics of the "stance" as they say. I still need to remove the step bars.
