Dude. I'm an engineer and I understand the physics just fine. If you look at that particular one, it has six mounting points: Two at the bottom, two near the bottom and two near the top. As good as a ARB? Nope. Better than nothing? Yep.

Big deal about being a engineer. Anything on the front of the truck has to be better than anything. Don t you have one on your train. WOO WOO !

Can have one made. Square tubing on edge is rediculously strong. Only picture I have of it atm

Got to love how providing correct actually useful information here is viewed as putting someone down. A brush guard isnt going to do angthing but make the damage worse in a deer collision. Thats just the facts. I know the fanbois on this site dont like those very much when it contradicts the effectiveness of mods they do to their truck which are all the very best money can buy and are therefore infallible. Now theyre getting their feelings hurt over it? Smh...delicate snowflakes.

I mean I don’t like the brush guards because they are ugly. And from looking at a dozen pictures and listening to everyone else who chimes in here.

And I mean if it only bolts up to the bottom they all seem to bend and crush the hood. Or as mentioned before deflect the animal to the windshield.

After recently being involved a pretty extensive front end Collision in my 19’ OR I feel like a steel bumper might have helped a bit with damage. Then again I was hit headone by an Audi not a deer.

I seem to have the only winch mount brush guard on tacomaworld. The winch tray really adds a lot of strength to it. Im going to demo a shed pretty soon and will try to post video of me ramming it to prove how much tougher it is.

Brush guards are designed to protect against sticks and branchest at 5mph, not 200lb deer at 45mph

If the brush guard minimizes the chances of human damage, then I'm all for it. You can always replace the vehicle. There's always going to be exceptions but I think brush guards are like seat belts - they increase your chances or minimize risk somewhat. There's no silver bullet for avoiding damage.

I’d agree to a point. Most pre built “brushguards” are pointless. The one I built has a few deer under it’s belt and has been fine. We build these for every truck we own because of the deer problems. When tied into the bottom and midway up on the uprights directly to the frame they can take some serious hits.

Those photos are all not deer hits. It’s also funny there is not a single spot of blood or deer hair any where
