I know this has been discussed and I have watched many you tube installs for the Pop and Lock tailgate lock. I want to wire into the passenger side so it does not activate every time I get in the truck. I saw a picture of the plug were you connect does anyone have the wire colors for that connection??

I installed mine a couple months ago. I watched a several youtube videos.
One thing I like about this one... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8ZOQpLNq68&t=375s
    (Not necessarily the best video)

But if you cue it to about the 20:45 mark, You'll see an interesting idea that I used myself.

Since this part is made for the Tundra too, by not running it up front and through the firewall, there's enough cable left over that you can keep that one rear connection inside the tailgate.

I thought that was pretty useful.

I heard that the Pop and Lock makes a lot of noise. Has anyone put any type of rubber gasket between the bed and the unit? Not sure if that would help or not.

It’s loud. I heard people putting the sound dampening material around the actuator (careful not to obstruct the motion) and that helps a lot. It is loud when stock, however

To save you a headache, I installed mine maybe a year ago and I can’t remember exactly, but I am almost positive the color diagram on the directions was incorrect, and I was on the phone with customer service for about an hour. Finally I found another YouTube video and watched very closely at how the wires and colors were connected. I mimicked this (which was at odds with what the pop and lock customer rep was telling me) and finally got it to work. Was extremely frustrating and I wish I had found that video before I even started.

Long story short, the instructions could be wrong!

Thank you I wonder if spray foam would work making sure not to get any on the actuator.
