OK, a question...what's the cup looking thing behind the back seat for?

On a DC there is a cup thing w/ 3 places for it to plug into. It's behind the rear seat on the DC on the drivers side.

Cup thing? Are you talking about the flashlight holder?

 

Hahaha! He is! It's for a maglight! I have never had luck with them staying there tho with a light in em. So, what I have done is put velcro on the bottom of the flashlight and a screw through the plastic right above it so it doesn't work it's way off. It never failed when I was on a rough road for it to work its way loose and I would hear my light bouncing around. Irritating?

This would be cool if it were 1998 and I were still rockin' a 4-D mag light. But now I have a SureFire and it is way too small to fit in the holder.

 

Surefire is a great light, but the mag light still has its place. I see a mag light more as a politically correct impact weapon. It may not be whiz-bang tactical, but one knock to the noggin' and it's coloring books for Christmas.

 

Haha yes, it does make a fine blunt-force-trauma tool

Honestly the main reason I like the SureFire is the lithium batteries 10 year shelf life. Seems like every time I needed to use my Mag, the damn batteries were dead.

I tried using mine for a few months. Got tired of listening to the rattles, and every couple of weeks it woulsd actually work itself loose and fall out.

Nice idea, but poorly implimented.

 

Glad, I read this post, I never new what that thing was for until now. I may have to go buy a flashlight now.

I have the identical light, same color and all.

Allow me to appologize ahead of time if I am incorrect, but your truck does not look like it has seen 1 rough road in it's lifetime!

 

there grocery bag holders too lol.. i dont keep anything back there tho, keep my maglight on the side of my seat. works fine.

 

I have the JBL system so I have the pocket on the driver's side and that's it. I have a gallon of water, a dog bowl, tow strap and maglight on that side and a safety vest in the net on the other side!

I just picked up my new Tacoma DC SR5 4x4 today...looks like I need to buy a mag lite so I can put that fine piece of storage engineering to full use.

 

I keep my trailer plug adapter in there, but I never knew it was for maglite either. Huh, how about that shit. Lol.

my tacoma didn't come with one, i guess the previous owner decided he needed it more than me. i don't think it would hold the 6 d-cell maglite i have anyway.
