Thanks. I sold mine because not many places to ride and they just sat in my garage, used the funds to help pay for my new garage. Then a year later I bought my cabin and now have a whole mountain to ride. I've been considering buying a new KTM 500exc enduro to keep up there.

That would be awesome. Probably more expensive than a CR500 and not as nostalgic.

I just got my first fuel injected outboard a couple years ago. It was my first fuel injected thing that wasn't a car. Something to be said for being able to start your toys as easily as your cars/trucks. Not that I ever had any major trouble with my carb'd stuff...there's just a procedure to start them correctly...y'all know what I mean.

My Harley, honda quads & SxS are all fuel injected. On the coldest of days it just takes a tap of the starter button.

Back to tacos lol ... Asking for help from my MD homies.

I'm looking at an OME kit from Headstrong. Trying to decide on Dakars or the HS 3 leaf AAL. My leaf springs were replaced in 2016 for the recall, i'm pretty sure they're different than the TSB springs, but still 3+1, so they're only a couple years old. Which would/did you guys go with? The Dakars are tempting but I wouldn't mind saving the dough to put toward tires. Worth it or nah?

I have the OME leaf packs that came with my Toytec Boss suspension lift kit. They ride great & even handle the extra weight when towing my camper.

    A thing or two...
A full pack will generally be better in the long run, but it depends on what your plans are for your truck. If you're just doing DD, general off-roading, and light towing/hauling, the AAL will be sufficient. If you're planning on a rear bumper, rack/RTT or shell/sleep platform, and the full compliment of recovery/broverlanding gear, you're going to want the Dakars.

Yeah, its not exactly my DD but I do drive it to work sometimes. Mostly weekend warrior type stuff, dump runs, hauling the dirtbikes in the bed, etc. Looking to do occasional offroading and camping. I have a tonneau cover for now, no bed rack/ cap bcuz I need the bed for my bikes. Maybe down the road if i get a trailer that would change. Might have to fork up the extra cash and go dakars cuz everytime I mod my toys, it tends to get out of hand. One mod leads to another then before I know it its completely decked out...

That's where I bought my SxS. Pete's here in Baltimore couldn't touch their price. And where I plan to buy my KTM in the future. Theres a used 2014 500exc on FB right now with 3k miles for $7k but for like $3500 more I can buy a brand new one.

I'm a big fan of honda dirtbikes & atvs, honda is all I ever bought because they have treated me so well over the years. But the crf450L has a cable clutch and is heavier compared to the ktm 500exc. The ktm has a hydraulic clutch, Brembo brakes among other upgrades over the honda. But from my online research the honda 450 can keep up with the ktm 500 in the dirt & on the street.
