I’m having high fuel trims at idle and maybe a bit higher than normal in higher RPMs lately. I’ve sprayed every hose and everything I can think of with MAF cleaner and no vac leaks. Only thing I’ve done recently was the coolant bypass on the 04 throttle body. Could that be the issue?

Took a trip out to Sedona this past week for spring break. Did a lot of hiking and ran some mild trails. Did Outlaw Trail and Vultee Arch road. Want to go back when I have more time and do some of the more challenging trails. The amount of pink Jeep tours out was ridiculous. They were pretty inconsiderate on the trail as well. Overall worth it though.

Had to take some pics once I got home before spending $10 to wash the truck because red dirt looks so good on white trucks :D

Made some progress on my winch bumper today.

I crawled under my truck and took photos of things I've been thinking about and new things I noticed. Mainly the slowly leaking steering rack.

Sounds like a vac leak if they get better with high rpm

I saw a post on custom tacos that the IAC uses coolant to function properly. I’m going to revert it back to see what happens. I’ve checked for vac leaks. Everything looks good.

What's the reason for bypassing it?

Coolant heats the TB as hot as the motor runs. Which in turn heats the blower housing as well. Trying to minimize heat soak.

Is the ecu just learning for the cooler air? I'd be impressed if it made that much of a difference though.

It’s not that it’s the cooler air it’s the Idle Air Control Valve that is actuated when at operating temp.

Alot of people think that Toyota runs coolant through the TB to keep it from freezing. Which sounds really stupid when you realize it makes more sense that it’s for the IAC to actuate when warm so it’s not in a warm up mode.

What was the code you used to get your trans temp?

That seems awfully low for the winch. Will it be completely hidden from view?

That's where every winch is mounted basically.

From all the designs I’ve seen they are in about the same area, just like @se7enine mentioned. And yes it will be hidden once the face plates are welded over the front.

Nice. Can't wait to see how it shapes up. I will be building one soon, but not for a Tacoma.

Are the CVs for 3rd gen 4Runners and 1st gen Tacomas the same? I thought they were/would be.

Curious because the reboot kits are different part numbers and the 4Runner one (04438-35060) looks like it comes with more grease (in tubes) than the Tacoma one (04438-04021) which has little plastic packs of grease.

A little worried that as I tear into the CV today that I won't have enough grease to fill up the boot...which Timmy does in his video...the boot is FULL.
