Haven’t been on here in awhile so sorry if the question is redundant but will a four wheeler (4ft wide fit in the bed of ‘16 long bed? I know the bed is over 4’ wide but wheel wells aren’t. Ok to roll front tires over them? Tail gate down strapped in ??

Yes, a quad (Polaris Sportsman 570). So you ride front wheels over wheel wells no problemo?? Thanks!

Save your bed and your truck. Use a trailer.

Use it all you want. Just don't put 4 wheelers in it.

x2 :: My Kodiak on 27's just squeezes in between the wheel wells. fits so snug in there that the concern of it falling out goes down.it is tight but good to go @IHEARYABOY measure between ur wheel wells and the width of wheeler to get a idea, what make weeler are u hauling?

Sport quad but it fit fine. Trailer was already in use.
The 62 inch wide side by side wasn’t fun loading backwards in the big truck. Haha!!
I’d say the bed will be fine. Especially if you’re in a state with a 55 mph towing max. Makes all the sense in the world then.

I put the outlander max 650 in the back once (barely fits between wheel wells and scratched them) but never again. With the tailgate down going over gravel roads, I received about 8 total pin prick rock chips on the tailgate close to each end. Right where you would expect rocks to be flying close by. This was with K02’s and stock hard plastic mudflaps. Don’t want to buy a tailgate cover just to load in the back. Will use a small trailer and keep the wear and tear down.

There is a guy on youtube who had a diamond back cover and puts his 4wheeler on top of it.

Sure, but with less height, no ramps that can fail/slide/etc it's inherently safer. Also less chance of bumping rear glass window.... I know a few that have done that.

That's fine. I really do find a small utility trailer easier to work with. I can carry hunting gear in the bed while pulling the trailer. Plus, I can pull the trailer with the ATV.... found that to be quite handy.

I might have different needs than you though.
