Staff meeting while ago....F & B Director blew up over "TV's that don't work" in a couple bars.

She was trying to use a remote that controls a gas fire place in the other end of the building....

In other news, we received a complaint email from a member about the fireplace going off and on during a meeting they were having in another part of the building

    :frusty:

If there's anyone on here that can sympathize with you and your work environment, it would be me. 99.9% of people's "problems" generally links back to their lack of gray matter. Some days it's just too much, trying to deal with morons....

Just signed an agreement with the club President. They will pay me my full salary for the year, plus next years vacation and bonus, if I stay until the end of June. I can take as many personal days as I need, due to health, with no effect on salary. I won't be required to work weekends. I won't have to do any physical labor unless I just want to. And I won't have to answer to ANYONE but the club President. This is worth just under $55,000. It also enables me to maintain current insurance without involving COBRA, until Medicare kicks in. He's the guy who stood up to asshat when he tried to fire me. He may be the only one here that fully understands just how bad they need me here. Coincidentally, my last day per this agreement, is ALSO his last day as President. "Just get me across the finish line" as he put it. If doctors require me to shut it down, the terms of the agreement still hold. I will get paid. It's all on paper, signed and witnessed. So....Still here....for a while.... Just 3 months.... Worth that just for the moral victory....

Thankya! Best part, it pays me and gets me outta here BEFORE August 4th when SS retirement age hits. I get all the advantages of early retirement, PLUS essentially full salary total as if I was working until mid Feb of NEXT year, all in a before retirement. No "extra" money spent to cover gap in insurance. Win/Win. Still gotta be here this summer, but truth be known, I wasn't quite ready to pack it in just yet. Too much work over the years just to walk away with things not finished. Biggest plus? I get to do this on MY terms and NOT someone else's....

Only other thing I would have required, and maybe you did, is to ensure that this deal stays between you and da Prez. If not, suspect you'd get some pushback, or he-be-lame-duck mentality that could make the last few months an EverReady PITA.

signed and witnessed by club attorney and MY attorney (who happens to be here quite a bit) It's legally binding. Plus I just have that much faith in the club president at the moment. He's a stand up guy who happens to really like me.

Not what I meant, I meant "everyone" else needs no knowledge of this, except what your last day is.

I'm not telling anyone else here. Club manager had his chance to veto before we signed. He's good with it. Beyond that, I give less than 2 shits what anyone else has to say. It's a done deal. Essentially I'm just available as a consultant now. Those who would object won't have much to say anyway...They're forced to admit defeat.

They'll probably act like I'm not even here....Which is all I really wanted anyway. I'm good with it.
