SDs are decent guns but aren't generally held in high regards. Only way I could see a trade for a Glock was if you added cash on your end. I would take the deal for a Shield.

Well, I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a pistol. The Shield is a great CCW piece. If you have large hands then it might not be that great of a shooter for you since the grip is on the small side. The SD40VE is a low end gun and not worth much. S&W was selling them at times for under $200 new after rebates IIRC. So I doubt you will get a trade offer for a G19 or G17 if that is the size pistol you are looking for. G19's have become very popular as carry guns once the Roland Special came out. It was the hot new gun mod a few years ago and does not seem to have died down. Used to be you could get Police turn in G19's cheap, but I have not seen that in years.

That would be the plan if someone wanted to trade a Glock, I've seen police trade ins with wear for $250~

Probably won't get too much for the SD.

Yup, I hate my SD. I dislike 40 cal and the trigger is dogshit.

I've seen some cheap Glocks, but not many.

Have you shot a 40S&W that did not have a dogshit trigger? There is a ton of S&W M&P police turn ins offered in 40S&W which has a much better trigger.

While they have equal monetary value I think the Shield is more desirable and would get your more/better offers if you're looking to trade for a Glock.

FWIW, I sold my SD40 in 2012 for $300 after I installed the Apex trigger.

9mm shields without laser go for $250 right now at palmetto state armory just for reference. I would grab that shield and if it doesn’t suit your needs trade that for the glock If possible. But it would be more a trade for G42/43 not for G19/17.

I'm happy to know that USPS is a worthless service and refuses to improve anything. they have once again lied. today my winch was supposed to be delivered. they say they attempted delivery but nobody came to the house. i have a camera. I'm thinking there to lazy to carry it to my door.

They refused to even put my batteries on the truck, apparently the mail carrier is allowed to refuse any package they can't lift, regardless of shipping or OSHA standards

Which you should remove and sell to pay for ammo. Lasers on pistols are gimmicks.

I ordered some steel silhouette targets. When I realized they were being shipped via USPS, not UPS, I called the Post Office to let them know I would pick them up there and not to have the older female mail carrier deliver them. I did not want her to get hurt. They got kinda defensive and said they were perfectly capable of lifting that much weight and it was a job requirement. So she put them by my door. Much better than the bitch I had for a mail carrier when I first moved out there. First delivery notice I ever got was always the third and final. She would lay into the horn for the entire 120yd driveway as she approached to get me to come out so she did not have to get out of the truck to knock. Working nights that tended to put me in a foul mood. I ended up calling the Postmaster to complain. She either quit or was transferred. Good riddance.

We have a great mail carrier, but when he takes a day off the replacements are shit. The only thing worse is the hood-rat express Amazon Delivery service. They make a game of seeing how far they can throw the package and still have it land on the steps.
