When I got my boots they came with two different types of grease, it was plenty to fill them up. If you need more Auto Zone carries packs of grease for CV rebuilds.
The boots should be the same, cant go by part numbers even Toyota has a part number for the left CV and another one for the right and they are the same CV.

Yeah, thanks guys. As I look at the packs more (and smooth the grease down into the end of the pack rather than let it level out), it looks like the volume of grease is probably pretty close (the same) to the tubes that I see in the 4Runner parts. Looks like enough to fill the boots completely.

Any reasons you can't use a high quality moly grease or similar, such as you'd use in a grease gun?

I seem to recall doing that with an old car many years ago, but it's been decades since I owned anything and had to deal with CV joints.

Last night- set the SWR on my CB. Got it to 0.8:1 on 1 and 40. I had to tweak the length of the antenna a bit- this is why I love Firestik antennas and use them whenever applicable. Plus, they are "fat"- large bandwidth as well as physically stout construction. 108" whip might get out farther (MIGHT!) but every one I ever ran got kinked in a short length of time. Plus, I can put my 5' Firestik in the bed out of sight/mind if I need to park somewhere sketchy, or need to go into a parking garage.

I used right at 18' of cable- not because I think that's the magic number, just so happened to be what I needed. I'd intended to cut to length and then make a few pigtails for tuning, but this works.

Changed out my washer nozzles. Not because I read some 35-page thread extolling the virtues of other nizzles while grousing about the stockers (seriously- first-world problems, much??), but because when investigating the reason the driver's side gave no output to speak of, it broke. $10 in the Dorman aisle and I found a set to replace them, giving me great spray- nice and wide, atomized- and adjustability. And, done.

Depending on how I feel when I get off, need to put those switched relays under the hood to feed my LEDs on the front, and the CB.

Nice setup. I am going to tuck my aux batteries under the toolbox in a frame so they are out of sight/mind, and put an inverter in the box. Might put my air pumps there too.

it's a good place for them helps get weight of the front end and in the back for the kind of rock crawling i do it really helps balance the truck out and believe it or not it lowered my COG.

I can see that being the case. I may just build an enclosure under the bed and install there. Basically borrow a page from Roget Brown's Toyota Cheap Tricks. That will be a bit of a bitch to change out, though.

yeah it'll be a PITA but if you use high quality batteries that don't bleed and typically last 8 years then use air compressors that have remote mount air filters like the viair compressors you'll only have to go in there to change batteries every 8 years.

That's the plan. I was planning on using the AGM batteries at Oreilly's (had good luck with them, and I get a discount), and running the intakes for the compressors to a manifold to get them as high as possible. The only downside to putting the compressors in the toolbox is the resonation that will occur- but then I have enough crap in there that isn't likely to be an issue.

Might just put the compressor under the hood. Not the best location, either. -shrug-

I'd put them in the back like I did. Honestly mine with the lid of the box shut aren't loud at all and i cant hear them in the cab at all when im wheeling. granted I do have the Stealth edition compressor which already run quieter than the others.

I will consider it. Have you run an intake out of the box, or is it not sealed?

You will have enough grease with the Tacoma reboot kits. If I'm remembering correctly, you get two packs of grease per joint. I've rebooted two sets of Tacoma axles and there was plenty of grease. To get the tripod off the axle, it's a little different for Tacomas. You first expand and slide down a c-clip under the tripod and then tap the tripod downward to expose a smaller c-clip above the tripod. Once that upper clip is off, you can slide the tripod off the axle.

Do you still have the file/ paper you used for the front diff removal and replacement? Your own instruction sheet?

    Hope that makes sense
