    What makes a TRD Pro?

To my ignorant ass, its shocks, a grill, badges and skid plate with Yota emblems on it that differentiate the two. What else does the Racing Development team put on them to make them Pro?

That's why I went the off-road route. Don't need a stainless exhaust tip, fancy badging, just want capability. So wasn't willing to spend the extra 10000 plus just to get better shocks. A stock TRD is a very capable truck.

Not to mention, you can get those shocks+skid plate for way less than $10,000...

Don't hate it at all. I'd fucking love to get one. Just can't afford the extra $$$ so I figured I get the next best thing.

The look is what we go for, the price for performance is what we shun.

I think the complete list of changes between OR and PRO is something like:

Shocks (internal bypass 2.5", rear have reservoirs, non-height adjustable)
    Sway bar (larger diameter)
    Interior Trim (seats, shift knob)
    Headlights (accent change only)
    Taillights (clear vs solid)
Fog lights (LED Rigid, not as bright as aftermarket but also DOT approved)
Exhaust (stainless, prob no discernable performance increase, sounds ok)
    Skid plate (aluminum, front only)
Wheels (pretty decent looking for OEM, fairly light)
    Scooooop (to catch extra bugs)
    Grill (everyone adds this anyway...)
    Badges (because PROOOOOO)

Still doesn't add up to a 10k delta if you're paying dealer markup. Shop around and you should be able to get one at MSRP (or a few thousand under). A lot of people undervalue internal bypass shocks, especially ones with the level of tuning you get when they're OEM. Bilstein/OME both have bolt-on bypass shocks for 3rd gens, both are $3k+.

I can see arguments either way. Buy what makes you happy / fits your budget.

If you’re looking to lift and mod go with the dclb 4x4, otherwise you’re gonna be ripping off a bunch expensive suspension parts that you paid for on the pro. If you wanna stay stock and still have a very capable 4x4 with upgraded suspension under factory warranty go with the pro.

Upgraded shocks, but they provide no lift. So both Bro Pro and Stock 4x4 have same height. That's it, im buying Bro Pro badges on ebay and sticking them on my Taco for the hell of it.
