I just ordered RCI sliders and a front skid. RCI said that the lead time on sliders are 1-2 weeks. I just couldn't handle waiting 12+ weeks for a $1k order; no offense to MobTown, I'm sure they're doing what they can.

I also used the forum 5% discount code "TW" but then realized they currently have a 15% off coupon code for tax season after the order was placed. Once I emailed RCI about it they promptly gave me the 15% discount and refunded me the extra money.

Great customer service so far. (Thanks Jeff from RCI)

The Victory ones look nice too. The one question I have is why every armor manufacturer uses standard hardware on a metric truck. The bolts you reuse are metric and all the new ones are standard. Just makes me need another socket set along. Is there a good reason for that?

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Most manufactures use 1/2" hardware "or should be" a 19mm works just fine on a 1/2" nut as it's 19.05mm. SAE hardware is easier to replace as just about every hardware store carries them and they cost less then metric.

Agreed. SAE hardware is cheaper for the same strength, more readily available for the customer, and have more available options for low volume manufactures like the aftermarket. We don't have the luxury of spec'ing out every fastener like the OE, so we have to go with catalog items from suppliers. Historically a lot more options for standard bolts, but that is changing somewhat.

I just ordered some RCI sliders also. I also couldn’t see waiting 3 plus months otherwise I would have purchased the Mobtown sliders. Yes, they are probably a little better built. But they are also probably over built. I think the RCI sliders and built well enough to serve their purpose. And the RCI people are good to deal with.

Anybody else debating about buying something from RCI, they currently have 15% off everything using the “taxtime” discount code.

No 19.05mm is .750" and that's the wrench size for a 1/2" bolt.

Yup. Same with 14mm and 9/16”wrench, both work on a 3/8 bolt which is also pretty common.

Mobtown is great, it’s going to be AT LEAST a 3 month wait. They have listed at 12+ weeks and I’d count on the + being accurate.

Not a bad thing, just gotta order and forget for a while

RCI just shipped my sliders and skid. Their 1-2 week lead time seems to be accurate.
