Happened for the second time in two week period. Good battery at 12.6v, no lights on dash, no door chime or overhead light on when door is open with the key in. Go to start, no starter engagement.

Second time, everything was working as it should before engaging the starter, dash lights came on with ign on. Go to start, everything dies, no crank or starter click.

I will try to look over my battery terminals, although clean and pretty new.
    Battery ground?

What else I should check. Never had this problem before.

Possible things to look at as causes:

    1. Broken, loose or disconnected wires in the starting circuit.

    2. If you're not engaged in park or neutral it will cause these symptoms.

    3. Faulty starter solenoid.

    4. Starter motor faulty.

    5. Ignition switch faulty.

    Good luck,
    Mark

I'll give those a look over. What's weird is that it acts normal until I turn the key and then it looks like a very dead battery start attempt. I am lost.
I did clean up all my connectors and ground for the battery, well see if the issue comes back.

The dome light situation sounds alot to me like something with the battery cables or battery terminals. Have you given them a good wiggle to make sure they're nice and tight?

Measure the Voltage between Battery Positive and the Engine Block

Has the Battery been load tested ?

It might read good but when the starter is engaged fall flat

Any Electrical work done before this started ??

I've had a failing ignition relay present these symptoms on a Tahoe. Easy enough to swap out to rule it out.
