For sure. Before attempting to turn the collar...

    1. I got it at full droop
    2. Spray a generous amount of lubricant on the threads (top and bottom of the collar)
    3. Loosened the hex screw and got it finger tight
    4. Then used some elbow grease

I have the 700# springs and this method worked well for me.

I would clean the threads before spraying them with a soft wire toothbrush...it helps the longevity of the threads just like you should with U bolts

    Just my 2cents

Does anyone know if the ADS coils springs can be swapped left/right between the strut assemblies? I have some sag on the drivers side (both the ADS and the rear Deaver Exp leafs). I guess this is due to the extra weight of the Odyssey battery, HP alternator, gas tank, driver, etc on left side. I can adjust some of it out of course but at some point it may be better just to swap the coils left/right. If the coils are Left/Right handed then it wouldn't be possible.

With the added weight, including plate bumpers and winch it might have been better to go with the 700# springs. I think I have the 650s.

Coils are the same on either side. Put a couple extra turns of preload into the drivers side.

FWIW: a lot of the taco lean comes from the rear. Are your leafs side specific?

The leafs can definitely be swapped according to Deaver. Also I have adjustable shackles so I can mask the effect that way as well.

I am using the preload adjustment to deal with the CO lean currently.

Just didn't know if Deaver's came side specific.

Don't use your shackles to compensate, as changing shackle length has other geometry implications. In fact, I don't like extending shackles at all for a stock length pack, but that's another can of worms.

Is the spring swap something you can do yourself with a spring compressor? I'm thinking I should up the spring rate as well. With the plate bumper/winch/100# battery I sometimes get a bump on the drivers side.

I did mine with a cheap HF set. Its pretty sketchy though. I dont recommend you do it that way if your not comfortable with compressing springs.

Easy to do, even while installed. Adjusted coilovers with my SPC compressors and no worries. These things rock863988B1-87EE-4916-88B6-82F7F352AF71.jpg

Yeah the spc is kinda pricey, but worth it i think. Wish i had this thing years ago, makes coil swaps a breeze. Found mine fur like 130

I've used the spanner and it's pretty hard on the aluminum ring due to the spring load. Also it is hard on the threads due to turning the ring through grit and such under load. I usually clean the threaded body first but a spring compressor would be nice for adjustments as well as swapping springs.

How often do people adjust their preload?

Probably not that often. I wanted to adjust mine because I left them around the same preload as ADS sent them with knowing i was going to have to adjust them anyways because I had a steel bumper coming. Steel bumper comes and i got that installed with my winch and everything i want to raise the front up to help accommodated larger tire that will be coming. I honestly thought the bumper would drop the front down and I don't think it even went down 1/4" of an inch with the 700lb springs. I would purchase the SPC one but damn for one time use $140 isn't really an option.
