So the other day I was driven around and seen a dodge with a custom tail light tins so it made me think..... Dose anyone know if custom tinting your tail lights with design that you can still see the color of the lights clearly is legal? Iv checked all around and no one can give me an answer.

It'll differ from state to state but up here they still have to reflect red. I would guess most of the tints people use aren't legal. Most cops won't bother you unless you're doing something stupid then it just gives them an excuse to pull you over, kind of like having something hanging from your rear view mirror or bumper stickers.

Depends on the design. For protection wise I would say if you can do it on the inside of the lens but may be hard to see. I half assed mine went to hobby people and got smoke paint was about 4bucks a can. There VHT i think its called sold at pepboys heard good and bad about it, then theres once by rustoleum dont know much about. May hit up some of the auto paint places in montclair see if SEM
