I recently purchased new speakers for my 2007 access cab tacoma. Ive heard I need to buy special mounts to give my speakers a tight fit. Ive asked audio installation places about this and they tell me I can just use self tapping screws to place my new speakers in its odd fitting home. Are the audio "experts" right or should i get the mounts??

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
What is the specs on the speakers? If it is 6.5 or 5.25 you will need baffles...if they are 6 x 8, you can fit them w/o...but post what type they are so we can help you.

Yes you will need them. As C17Guy mentioned i do sell them. I, myself, am unsure if you can use 6x8 speakers without adapters, but if you can you will be limited to 2.25" top mount depth (how deep the speakers mount into the door) so keep that in mind.

they're alpine 61/2's and 6x9's. I actually ordered the mounts i believe on crutchfield. The mounts for the back speakers fit like a charm, but i guess i didnt read to specs correctl. The mounts i received for the front speakers were conversion mounts (6x9 to a 61/2) We're can I purchase these 6x9 mounts?? my back speakers sound awesome with my new pioneer dual den deck, but my front speakers are getting out worked. i want to really bump that sh*t!
