I've witnessed a torn Achilles (Chief) and a broken collarbone (Eagle). Yeah, those are fun to watch.

The worst injury I've seen delivered was the Wing Chaplain (at age 62) take out a 2LT in ultimate Frisbee. For a man of God, he was more competitive than Rocky Balboa.

I know this isn't classifieds, but I've got a nearly new DC H10-13.4 headset for sale. Less than a year old and less than 20 hours. I have the original box. $250 shipped. PM me if interested.

Some serious Darth Vader vibes on that one. My dad got to refuel a few with the -10. Said it was trippy to watch them just *appear* out of the blackness on a dark night as they pulled up along side.

    That looks so fun!!!

My goal is buy a 140 or a 170. I actually just put a deposit down on a hangar. It's a 5-year wait so I have some time.

I love my 120, but depending on your mission (and if your budget can take it) the 170 is likely a better option. I'm an average guy, 170lbs, 5'9" and it fits me and my tiny gf perfectly. It'll carry anything we can stuff in it, but we can't bring a whole lot. The 170 gives you a little more payload and back seats if you need it.

5 year wait isn't too bad! It's a 35 year wait list at SNA where I fly out of lol

I would love to see one of those fly in person
Awesome! You had to put a deposit down and then wait 5 years? Ouch. We have waiting lists around the DFW area, but none of them required a deposit. It’s a good thing they didn’t, because when we were beginning to look at planes we got on as many lists in the area as we could!

They're cool, but it's nothing fancy. They ain't exactly a ballerina - controls are computer enhanced (invented fly-by-wire) just so it can be relatively stable. They also aren't super fast. They're not as quiet as people think they are. Being "quieter than an F-16" is like saying "shorter than Shaq."

What they are is invisible in the dark, and of course invisible to radar. If it wasn't for the safety lights there was nothing there. Even on the air war display, "special means" were used to track them because AWACS couldn't normally see them.

What's cool to see in person is a B-1B on afterburner takeoff. Your ancestors and descendants will feel it.

When we lived on the Air Force Academy, one of the normal routes the B1 flew was right over my daughters school, as soon as it was over the school, it would climb at near max rate with the burners lit. Was pretty neat to look up into the flames. Was something like every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30, almost like clockwork.

I don't have any pictures of it but, back in the early 90's it was cool watching the Air France and British Airways concords leaving JFK with their afterburners lit.

Only time I've seen a B1 fly was at Oshkosh last year. Those engines rattled my insides. Haha, it was awesome
