    Great, thanks for that.

I'll check it out later...although not much the dealer will do if it is leaking since I'm out of the factory warranty at this point.

I do have a 3rd party extended warranty, but the deal is I get my money back once the truck is paid off (IIRC $1100), if I file any claim then no reimbursement. Who the hell knows if they would even cover something like this anyway. I got duped into buying it, which is why I do not want to use it and get my money back once the truck is paid off in a couple of years.

This is over a 2k job well above what you paid for your warranty. They should cover it and if I was you ide let them. Just my opinion.

Well hopefully it isn't leaking, but I can't check until after 6pm tonight when I get home...possibly my lunch break.

Told the boss I needed some fresh air and went out and checked. Oil leak confirmed :(

Doesn’t appear to be anywhere but on the block. I didn’t see oil on any lines or any drips in the skid plate.

Tried to get good pics but the skid was in the way so these are half-assed. I’ll have to drop it and get a better look later.

Just had this done about a month ago. Mileage was around 45K & leak was pretty bad at that point. Leaking down to oil pan. Dealer had it done in just under a week. No issues since then.

Thanks for the update. I’m at the dealership right now. They said it has to drip on the ground to be considered a leak. I was fine with that because I was just under there and it’s definitely a leak. So I’m waiting for the techs to confirm what we already know lol Im at 53K.

That's bs bro. Mine never hit the ground. If its leaking out of the engine it's a leak. Period. Find a new dealer or complain to corporate

Yeah if they feed me this BS I’ll never come back to this dealership ever again. And I’ll write the worst review on Yelp and I’ll send the review to the general manager in an e-mail. I bought an extended warranty 100K and if they feed me this I’ll never come back.

Exactly....well the service manager that I usually deal with fed me this whole “We just got back from training and they said that it has to leak on the ground to be considered a leak” BS. He gave me a free meal ticket so after I calm down I’ll get something to eat and then wait for the verdict. But yeah if they tell me it isn’t a leak yet I’ll just leave and I’ll write the most God awful review on yelp and CC the general manager and post it on there FB page. They love it when you do things like that.

I'm emailing the service manager of my dealer, which I drive way out of the way to go to, as mine should have been caught by the techs during one of the dozen service visits I've had since owning the truck. It's plain as day noticeable from underneath the truck. The techs should have saw this while doing the oil changes.

I’m with you. I’ve been super busy, I usually do a visual look around every month or so. But I’ve been moving and haven’t had the time. Last night at work, I randomly looked into my engine and boom.

I’m letting all the other people that have Tacoma’s or 4Runners know about this too. I guess it’s been a problem with these engines. Not rare is what I was told.
