I searched a bit for the answer to my question. Didn't find one but I assume this has already been answered.

Is there a common modification after purchase that the hood scoop is designed for? I am wondering if there is any real utility or if it's just 'form over function.'

It has been answered a ton of times.

It is just a styling thing and is on the Pros also. ;)

I did find that the Skewp would splash car wash soap and slush on the windshield right in my line of sight, so I modded it under the hood to be open. No more splashing and just barely functional now. Haha!

    For looks.
I mean, you could cut a hole in it, if you really wanted to.

It totally isn't functional at all.

Some people put 9" light bars in them.

I just like how it looks. I know it's totally useless.

No, it`s just for looks and I have seen the question come up before and beat to death here. Guess it`s actually in a very poor location to do any good even if it were opened up.

Ive looked years ago and seen mention of filthy engine bays after opening the skewp on xrunners (no offroad).

    So, great idea?
    Doubtful

Done years ago as well, the glare bounced off the hood and blinded the driver.

A dirty engine that is exposed on the underside and through the grille opening? Not much of a concern for me, since plenty of mud has been splashed up already:

    Incorrect.

Stickers can get you up to 30 horsepower.

A skewp can get you all the Horsepowers.

It stiffens the hood so it doesn't flutter at speed.
