I run an RCI in the back which is clean AF, and a Demello in the front, which is clean AF.

Depends on how obnoxious you want your truck to look, really.

That actually looks really good! Now drop an HID kit in those projectors and you’ll be good to go!

I was wondering if those were ever going to turn up when we were at the shop over the weekend.

That may be beyond my ability level. But I’ll look into it.

I can help you if you ever decide to go that route. Since the aftermarket headlights already have a projector, it would be an easy install.

I took the harder and more expensive route on my truck. I had a set of OEM Bi-Xenon Lexus projectors retrofitted into my OEM TRD Sport headlight housings and I wired up and installed a Morimoto HID ballast and bulb kit. TheRetrofitSource has a kit in almost every bulb size imaginable and they are stupid easy to wire up. The hardest part is finding a place to mount each ballast. But they’ve made those so thin now that it’s usually pretty easy to find a place for them.

I’ll snap a picture of the front of my truck one of these days. Probably after I get the stealth LED bar mounted in my lower grill.

So the Seller said the existing Bulbs are H8 but that 9 & 11 would also work. So with that info what HID would you recommend?

I’d buy this system and call it a day. You might have to drill a hole in the cover on the back of the headlight to run the wires but I’d need to see them to be sure. Either way, the kit should come with a rubber grommet around the wires just for that purpose.

I know it’s a bit pricey compared to kits you can get on fleabay but I’ve been using an H4 Bi-Xenon 35w Morimoto Elite system for over two years with the 5500k bulbs and I love it. It’s comes with a five year warranty on the whole kit and my bulbs still fire up every time and are as close to pure white as you can get.

I’ll take a picture of my headlights tonight after it gets dark.

This is what the back looks like. I haven’t looked behind the big ass grommet

Ok, so you’d likely be removing the grommet, the built in wiring adapter and the bulb, then you’d have to pull the wiring harness out of the grommet so you could run the bulb wires in the HID kit through.

That’s essentially what I did on my headlights to get the wiring through and into the retrofitted projectors.

Got it. Makes sense. I’ll be in GA next week. Will order to arrive after I get back and maybe we can meet and get it installed.

Sounds good to me! I should have all the parts for my brake upgrade by then and would like to borrow that cable for easier bleeding.

I'm running the morimoto HIDs and I will warn you- they aren't a perfectly snug fit and tend to bounce a bit when you hit bumps and stuff. If you're OCD enough that this would bother you, this kit is not for you

What’s the benefit of HID over Halogen?
