I'm getting there. Lol. But wtf with these new shocks. Don't want there to be issues before I put them to use.

You'll be fine, I have King shocks on both my Tacoma and 4Runner. Both don't have any issues.

Does anybody know what type of cleaner can be use on the threads of the coilovers and if a wire brush can be use to scrub the threads without damaging the threads?

Never thought about it, shit gets dirty anyway. However when I swapped the springs I just used a paint brush I found in the shop. But if you’re worried about the bling finish for your next Starbucks Rigs and Coffee meet, id imagine there’s a Facebook or Instagram group out there that could get you squared away.

Hilarious! Nah brah, I don't mall crawl, sip coffee at Starbucks or need it to be shiny like your hiney. My threads have dirt, grime, dust, salt in crusted in the threads and power washing it isn't enough to get it clean. Because it was dirty AF I had difficulties with adjusting the ride height while the coilover was attached to the truck.

So if you don't have any useful information to share then pass me up and go fuck with someone else.

I ain't butt hurt and you're right this is a forum. Your input on the previous post was useless and I had already tried to use a bristle brush prior to my original post and that didn't remove the black shit that's on there now. That's why I had asked if somebody knows if a cleaner and wire brush could be used.

Good shit I like your attitude. I need you in the Army time now. Hit the the threads with brake cleaner and see if that’ll work! I don’t adjust the ride height while they are on the truck. I give them a blast of air to dry them off while in the wall mounted spring compressor and clean them off with a paint brush

Try WD40 and use a copper wire brush, blow it off with compress air. It wouldn't hurt to apply copper anti- seize on the treads when re installing, for future maintenance.

Thanks. I'll look for the copper wire brush and copper anti-seize.

Dirt on the paint Dirt on the tires Dirt inside Dirt on the wires Dirt on my lights Dirt in my sights Dirt on my seat Dirt just sticks Dirt is so neat. I love dirt.
We installed King Coilovers and shocks with OME HD Dakar leafs in the rear of my friend's 3rd gen TRDOR DCSB Tacoma. If you've ever wondered what Old Man Emu Heavy Duty leafs do with stock weight... you'll see how high it sits in the video.

If you've ever wondered what it looks like to just lift one side of the Tacoma and drive... you'll see that in the video too!

It's nicely edited with some king shock beauty shots

Check out our other videos on the channel here >>>DIRT COMPLEX

    FINAL MEASUREMENTS
Front: 23.5" (about 12 threads and 1.25" showing)
    Rear: 24"

So I’ve got everything laid out just confused on what rear shocks to get.

Doing 2.5 ext travel front, icon Billet UCA, icon RXT in the back.

My question is do I need ext travel rear shocks???

Likely not. It depends on how you use your truck of course, but standard rear shocks will still give you plenty more travel than stock. Extended rears requires a lot of extra work. i.e shock relocation kits etc.

If you want more travel after the standard shocks, getting a new leaf pack would probably be the easiest way to get another 1.5in. Of travel.

Not all extended rears need a shock relocation. King 25001-121-EXT and 25001-121A-EXT do not require a shock relocation.
