Go to a quality indie and get a price. They'll at least tell you how many hrs the flat rate book allows.

    $6 x 6 for the plugs

So 5-6 hours of labor for a change? Are they high?

I'm not sure how in-depth it is to do the spark plugs on the 3rd gen, but My wife left to get groceries when I started changing my plugs and I was just finishing up the 6th spark plug when she got home.. Unless they're quoting you for rear diff, front diff, transfercase fluid, oil, oil filter, possibly brake fluid and coolant with your spark plugs... They can go eat a bag of dicks. I did all that myself for $240

Yeah I was in the dealer last week and hadn’t just hit 60k.....$550 haha, no thanks

Interesting enough the book calls for plugs to be replaced at 60k miles but the dealer told me 120k was showing up on the computer. Ill just do them myself every 100k for peace of mind

Sad thing is there are people out there that dont know any better and will pay that. My MIL decided to take her Lexus to the dealer for an oil change and came home with a $800 bill and was happy about it because they "detailed it and filled it with gas". Not sure what all they did but i guarantee you it wasnt worth anywhere near $800.

Yeah I did my research and knew it should not be that much. Going to just do it myself, was just being lazy having the dealer do it. Feel sorry for the poor suckers who just pay that

I'd have asked for a detailed breakdown of what was included. They may have included fresh coil packs as well, depending on your mileage.

Or, they might be busy on the service side, and were giving you a 'go away' quote. I did that a few times when I ran service at a shop.
