    i had been looking for an ESP Eclipse like this for a while (traditional control layout and no belly cut). they're almost impossible to find, or they're stupid expensive. Reverb usually has them in the 2000$ - 3000$ range, except for the USA Custom Shop one that's like 6000$. this beaut popped up on the LA Craigslist for 1000$! left work early to snag it.

    heavier than any Gibson LP Standard i've played and the neck is sooo much more playable than the typical Gibson baseball bat. round it out with quality Gotoh hardware and now i'm finally a fan of Les Paul style guitars.

    The E2 with gold binding and pups looks pretty badass aswell.
    Ive been digging the E2 strats for a looooooong time. Just could never afford one.

    probably will be my score of the year unless some other miracle happens. only thing non-original were the pickups, not a huge Seymour Duncan fan, but they're probably better than the EMG 81/85 combo the guitar probably came with.

    i couldn't get into the E2 series as much. something about owning a real ESP always got to me. i know it's a whole "paying for the name on the headstock" thing, but hands down, ESPs play miles better than E2s and LTDs. i just wish the E2 series coming into existence didn't cause the used market for ESPs to sky-rocket.

    So many guitars and I have never played the 81/85 combo.
    Praised by some, hated by others.

    The Jeff Hanneman JH-600 has them (LTD) which is one I would like to own.
    Just not sure about that combo. I'm a trebly, clear, concise kinda guy.
    I hear they can get a bit mushy.
