    Ditto! ;)

Is a decorative hood scoop seriously worth paying the same price as the Off Road's traction systems that make the truck unstoppable? I know, I am old... lol!

I am so tired of this argument. You get all the same upgrades as the OR from the lower trims. Upgraded rims, wireless charger, upgraded interior materials, power outlet in bed, navigation, among others. The only difference between the two is one has CC and a locker and the other looks better with the hood scoop and color matching fender flares.

It all depends on how you as an individual value the different features. Do function items really add more value then aesthetic features like a hood scoop? Maybe at first glance, but remember that CC and MTS can only be used in 4L. The vast majority of owners including myself never use 4L making those features next to useless. So yes, if you're wheeling then I can see how those features add value to your truck, but if your like me and using your truck as a daily and only really ever need 4H, then those extra buttons would only be there to look at. So for me, the hood scoop adds a lot more value than would unusable features. Let's not forget that these trucks are PLENTY capable with regular traction control and 4H/4L

Valid point. For me though, if I was looking at a Sport vs OR at comparable OTD prices, I will always pick the OR. And this from someone who originally was looking at the 4 banger SR's.

No my friend, the locker is not the only thing... So sad the salesmen are pushing Sports (as they are higher profit than Off Roads) and not educating buyers. I have wheeled with Sport owners and they all tell me IF they had known the differences, they would get the Off Road.

Off Road is a TRACTION package. Multi-Terrain-Select/A-TRAC, CRAWL, Rear Locker, Hydraulic Brake Booster.
Sport is an APPEARANCE package. Fake scoop, colored bumper and mirrors, Vacuum Brake Booster.

They each have their own shocks, one is for sports car-like highway driving and one is for dirt road bumping (do I need to say which has which).

Not to mention the OR has a bigger rear differential (unless you are a MT) which is huge since there has been more Sport differentials to blow up under strain than any other according to people posting on TW

6-speed MT Sports have the same 8.75” diff as the OR. If I didn’t ge such a good deal on my Sport, I would have gotten an OR though. I like the look of the Sport better but I really did want the locker. The crawl control.... not so much.

My point is, if you're not wheeling then those traction features are not any added value, where as the appearance upgrades do add value in addition to all the other upgrades with the TRD trim levels. Saying things like "not educating buyers" is tremendously nieve.

Can’t do those sweet throttle turns with the 3rd gen locker!

I agree tho that the off-road package provides more value if it costs really the same as Sport. You can add all the appearance features from the Sport relatively easily. Add all the traction features? Good luck, won’t be cheap or easy!

Couldn’t care less! My statement comparing it to adding crawl control etc to a sport still holds very true

That much is true. But why would you want to? Turning a sport into a OR or OR into a Sport is silly. They both serve very different purposes.

All I'm saying is that for the people who go off road, then Obviously the OR is the better value, but for those who dont OR, or do light off roading only, then the sport is plenty capable. The value of the traction features depends on if you will use them or not. If not then no value added. Saying the OR is 'worth more' because of these features is simply not true. They are almost identical vehicles which minor tweaks to each

    I guess its Friday
