I'd feel bad doing that to my customers.

OP is mistaken. Must haven been quoted for spark plugs and turn signal fluid.
    What the heck?

Now thats a full day at the dealership. Now if dealerships can stop those who eat half a doughnut and leave the uneaten portion in the box

It’s pretty darn easy to do. Done it twice now because I put the wrong plugs in the first time. Driver back is a bitch, but with a good flexible spark plug socket with long extensions your will be good. Tighten them to spec torque of 12ft/lbs (if I remember right) double check that...

If you decide to do it yourself. Put towels on the fenders and use a small step ladder for leaning in/leverage.

As always, don’t force anything, have an ice cold beverage and take yer time

Sienna's have never been a picnic but removing the intake is not hard and makes it simple to get to the back. People shouldn't be daunted to remove intakes on most cars. I admit I haven't done a 3rd Gen Taco but if it helps to see what you're doing, don't be scared. You can work around it the next spark plug change once you see what's up.

After doing that job with him, I think the $750 is completely justified. It’s not removing the intake that’s difficult, it’s trying to navigate the spark plugs and your tools with only physical touch and mirrors or a camera.

I've loved these extensions since the '80s when they came out. Sooo handy I rarely use a straight extension for anything anymore.

edit: just noticed that this is a manufactured together with socket ext. but find just the wobble ext.'s with a socket indispensible for just about everything now.

The Honda dealer tried charging me $200+ something dollars to change my spark plugs when i took it in for a recall. They told me they were the orginal ones from when the car was new and that they were worn out. I had just put brand new NGK spark plugs myself 3 months before all this lol. Theifs man hahahaaa. I told the Honda lady this and all she told me was “idk thats just what they told me back there”

These threads always kill me. They quote everything at full retail and by the book time x shop rate. Some jobs they might over quite a little but independent shops do the same. If your mechanically inclined and want to do it for the cost of the plugs then do it and quit bitching about how much it is for them to do it. It doesn’t matter what business you’re in. Business are in business to make money. They have employees and overhead. Just like your employer

Yea idk these threads always are kinda weird to me. You dont like the price? shop around. still think its too much? do it yourself.
Sometimes as well they price things a certain way because they dont want to do them.
