My brother used to work there and I don't think it is. I went there to see him once and he had to escort me.

I don't know about Edwards, but I know that before 9/11 folks could tour the AMARC at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson. Don't know if they can still do that or not.

His work reminds me a bit of the paintings that Kenny Youngblood does. If you are into motorsports do a google search for his images. It is mostly drag racing but he also did a few hydroplane images too. I have a couple of paper prints of his images.

I always loved the B-58 for it's ultra fast looking rake to it. Especially in the rollout colors!

I remember reading an article somewhere where they did a coast to coast test flight with a SAC strike profile where the average AGL was like 58 feet or something like that. All while doing near or just over mach.

I don't work Airbus' but on a 737 its about where the airstart hooks up. I'd guess the port to attach an airstart/puffer.

I went out to the B-58 a long time ago and it was in pretty bad shape. It was late on an airshow day as the T-Birds were flying so we figured no one would give a shit with us being out there and we were right.....not a soul in sight. I hear the Hustler is in even worse shape now which is really sad......

I was a glorified mechanic on the B-1B in South Dakota during my Chair Force tenure. Incredible aircraft when they worked. @CaptAmerica...you are correct...I still remember sitting on the flightline with all four engines cranked...couldn't see straight.

Funnily enough, despite how much I'm fascinated by aircraft of all kinds, I hate flying.

For those of you that happen to be in the Denver area, Wings Over the Rockies is a must-see. A B1 is on display. There's also a beer garden next door.

We had a couple of your birds for Operation PHOENIX SCORPION in 1998 to convince Saddam to let Hans Blix and the rest of the UN inspectors back in Iraq. Their mission was to literally break all ththe windows of whatever palace he was staying in that night. We’d put up a fuel bridge (I was comm with the tankers from Fairchild) and an F-15 CAP, and the bones would buzz the palace low and just as supersonic. SMASH! The next night he’d be at a new palace...and SMASH! Only took 5 days of that. Our intel is outstanding - we watched him relocate in real time.

We called it “Operation PELLA” because we figured their stock was going up in replacement windows.

It was the first time the bone was used solely in a psyops role. Worked GREAT!

Beer is one of the few things I enjoy more than flying. It’s a shame that both at the same time is frowned upon.

That’s an old 8th FS bird. I did 4 years (1999-2003) with that squadron at Holloman AFB as a 2A352 Avionics Journeyman. I’ve undoubtedly worked on THAT specific jet.

    Then I joined the Army.

    Cool pics!

The poll is closed. Got more responses than I thought we would. I will probably put up another one just for fun. If you guys have any ideas for a poll or are curious what others are doing, let me know and I’ll make a poll for you.
