    After reading through some of this thread and some others, I have started skipping gears when shifting. Mainly in town...go straight from 2nd to 4th (after getting past 30 mph). The 2nd to 3rd shift always seemed to be kind of a jerky transition...

    Interesting. 2nd to 3rd is always smooth for me. 1st to 2nd can be tricky.

    I skip 5th most of the time. 4th to 6th.

    if the shifting from 2nd-4th is a little jerky try using a the gear a little longer then change, mine trips up if i try to change it before it needs it, i skip 5th most of the time too..

    For all the people who make up excuses for the "Girls in their lives who cant drive a manual so they had to get an automatic": My Wife and Daughter decided yesterday afternoon about 7pm to drive the truck to Miami from where we live in St Petersburg, Fl to see our friends who are stationed there for the weekend. Its a few hours and about 300 miles one way and late so they were going to drive in shifts. My Daughter still has her learners permit but they did exactly that, drove in shifts all they way. Girls rowing gears.

    I usually skip 4th or 5th gear, there are certain roads where I can skip both and go 3rd straight to 6th.

    Yup! 6,800rpm.

    You can feel the power start to taper, which is nice. Since I loaded the tune, I have not been near the limiter as much as I used to be.
